YummyMummy, My DD has just turned 4 and has been asking for one for a while now. Last year, as a replacement for a DS (nintendo one) we got her a leapster game pad and she adores it, the games are a lot more educational but a lot of fun too. She is great on it but we limit her time playing it even though she sometimes throws a paddy, she soon get over it. I think we might ask santa for a nintendo DS this christmas but it all depends if she continues to play on this. you can get a decent leapster console at argos then games from ebay. As an extra bonus it works from AA batteries which is an excuxe we use for telling her to turn it off after a half hour. you can get a mains adapter but we haven't told her that,lol.Would like to: Retire at 54. 19yrs .Clear mortgage by 50. 16yrs. I'm really not certain yet, I'm thinking I should keep the two seperate and have like sister sites, as someone suggested earlier.

Hello everyone
I am back. OH carried me home...was hilarious!
Had KFC and am now watching England and crafting while I recover. My arm muscles don't exist anymore, I can't hold anything, not even things with no weight...
Anyway, I am backSignature down for maintenance :rotfl:0 -
P.S had a bit of a mad idea myself. want to keep it secret for now and may come to nothing but I do like it.

I think with this one it's more of a test of my willpower, how long I can resist putting it on a credit card. I might just be using the 'he's too young for it' excuse instead of admitting that I probably can't quite afford one right now
:( He needs to stop wanting things, we will never get our own place at this rate!! :rotfl:
right, DS has DS (boom boom!) when he was 5, he had been on and on and on for months if not 18 months. We couldn't afford it so I kept saying when you have enough money yourself then you can have one...
well the cheeky whatsit managed to get £100 together from birthday and christmas money... first thing he said when he realised how much he had was 'I can get aDS now MUM!'... I had to give in.... so I bought it as cheap as possible (in true MSE style!) so for £100 he got two games and a DS.... I have to limit the time he plays on it as he would be on there all day if he got the chance.
Yummy,if you can't afford it then tell him to save up and suggest to friends, rellies to give him money rather than presents???
That wa he gets what he wants, you don't put in on CC and he starts to learn about money too....sealed pot challange #572!Garden fund - £0!!:D£0/£10k0 -
Moneymabel - if i could wear earrings i'd buy those turquoise swirl earrings, i love them! In fact, if i'm not beaten to it i may get them for my friend's birthday, which i think is in May (i'll have to check out her ears!).
I love the paradise necklace but OH says it's too early to renew our wedding vows!Just £10,852.28p to go...
Trust that little voice in your head that says "Wouldn't it be interesting if...";
