    hugs sheloveshimsomuch.. I hpe the person who PM'd you can find a way to feel comfortable with who their child is and really appreciate the amazing bits of them so that they no longer feel hurt by hearing about other parents celebrating their child. sometimes you can grieve for what you believe your child will be when you realise that life sometimes plays the hands differently. but every childis unique and will have their positive beautiful side. maybe the original PM er would love to come on and celebrate thier child or the children they meant. I for one would celebrate the life of any child.

    I dont really know where or why it was done, it was just "you should remember that not all children are brilliant like your son obviously is so you shouldn't show off about it because you will hurt people's feelings"
    I am so proud of him, he has certain problems due to Aspergers syndrome but I wouldn't change him for the world. Isn't it a mum's right to show off now and again?

    No need for you to justify anything. Somebody obviously has an inferiority complex ...

    I'm still proud of the fact that I was a very advanced reader and into adult fiction by the time I was 10. Can you imagine today's 10 year olds voluntarily picking up Brave New World and 1984?

    You need to remember that not all people are as brilliant as you! You might hurt someones feelings! :rotfl:
    Just £10,852.28p to go...

    Trust that little voice in your head that says "Wouldn't it be interesting if...";
    And then do it.

    Sheloveshimsomuch - whoever sent you that obviously has issues with high achievers :rotfl:and they obviously are not one of our friendly 'gang', as Em says it reminds you that this is indeed an open forum not just a chat with friends! Please ignore them and don't take it to heart. I for one love hearing about how well someone is doing, whether it is one of us, our siblings, our children, it helps me get through the tougher times!

    As I 'boasted' about my clarinet exam then maybe I will be getting the next pm!!!?

    Hope you are ok hun, and please carry on telling us about your families achievemnets!!

  • Thanks I feel better for that!

    On another note, I had a question from someone on Amazon asking if they bought one of my books I have listed on there, would I post it out today. I answered straight away and said yes, and then they didn't buy it! What do you think that was all about?

    Yes thats what happened with my son, he was put on the gifted and talented register before they diagnosed him with Aspergers (not that I am suggesting for one minute that your son has Aspergers!!) but if it had have been a bigger school I wonder if he would have been lost in the system. I found it hard to give him books to read that were still age appropriate if that makes sense?

    As far reading material I know exactly what you mean! My DS might not have aspergers but he is bordering on Hyperactivity.... you should see him fly on pineapple juice.... might as well give him drugs!!

    We are starting free reading on The Twits by Roald Dahl !

    I might see if I can dig out some Enid Blyton, I used to enjoy those as a kid.... If I remember rightly I read Charlie and the Choc factory when I was about 6 too.... there we go... mystery solved... its all in the breeding:D
