  • Gah, I'm fed up. I'm off to bed, to try and sleep, although OH wants to watch an hour long programme he missed earlier cuz his friends were round and I doubt that I'll be able to sleep through it tonight....

I'll see you all in the morning!

Morning all. Went to bed early last night as I was totally pooped.

Kitty won't recover I don't think :( She had a stroke a few months ago and lost a lot of control of her back legs for a time. She almost totally recovered, but now her back end is going again and she's showing signs of confusion, so I think she's had another one. She is nearly 16 though (so is the other one) so she's a decent age for a cat that the vet told me when she was 2 was going to die young because of a condition she has. Still gonna be very sad when she goes :(

I gave Bingo a go last night .. figre nothing chanced nothing gains - it was foxy and they have an offer on where if you deposit £10 you end up with £40 - and you'll never guess what - I won £60 on my first game.withdrew it straight away and carried on playing with the bonus money :)) made giving a £20 refund on ebay a bit easier today :(

    Morning all

2cats, really feel for you, I know how attached you because to kitty cats, he/she has had a good long life and prob has a bit to go yet. The way to tell if it has had another stoke, so I have been told, is to look at the floor/skirtingboard. Sorry to be crude, but when they do, they loose control of their bowels and spray brown stuff. It may well go on for a while yet, used to work in a cattery and have seen a cat reach its 21st birthday before it went to kitty heaven! (Only once mind).

Jane - Well done, bit more for the pot! x

Saucy - good luck today, if you need cheering up, we will try and help!

As for me, well, three guesses as to what I will be doing today?! Sorry to keep harping on, but have been recommended to try Green Metropolis for some of the dreaded things, I know people have mentioned it here before, but has anyone actually sold anything on there??

    Morning fellow dribblers,
It's nice to wake up to a new shiny thread (even if we are 6 pages in already, lol)
Lots to do today, setting up my about me page on eBay is my first task.
MummyandPaige, I think your books in a bag ideas is a winner. The last time I went to a boot fair as a buyer there was a guy selling off video tapes (fill a box for a quid) which I promptly did (50 tapes)then the following week sold them for 5 for a quid, only sold 10 but made my quid back, up a quid, and still have 40 for the next one.
I would suggest though, maybe try selling the books there first and about an hour before the end offer the fill a bag option.

    Hi Guys,

Quick update from me to say I am £1175 into my £10,000 for 2010 (Well, I will be at the end as I am saving £74 per month in rent).

I have found a few quid in my wallet that I have decide to throw into the pot too :-)

I got offered a promotion but I don't know if it involves a pay rise but the role is a massive career step! How would you guys approach the manager to find out?

i would just be straight with the manager and ask if they are asking you to take on extra responsibility the pay should increase to .i know it can be hard but i suppose you could ask if you will need a new contract for the post and do you get any extra benefits with it pay/holidays
So finally debt free and it feels amazing however continuing here to stay debt free.Next declutter house and body and finally swim under that waterfall x

:) They're white indian runners - they don't need deep water, doesn't need to be any more than a foot deep so it'd depend on the age of your children i guess. Maybe give the ducks free range and coop up the children :) just kidding! x

childrens coops - now thats a business idea! LOL!

Amber - second Cally's suggestion.... set up a googel/gmail/yahoo email and advertise that.... you can just ignore emails if you want to!!!

Mummy - I;ve not sold on green metropolis but from what I have read (have a nosey on the ebay board) its very slow compared to amazon and ebay....

Saucy - take it easy love...there's no point in making your self even more poorly....

Rght, kids at school..... more listing to do.... and then I need to do real life admin, MOT due, bills to pay etc.... BORING!

My DS teacher approached me this morning to tell me that they are taking him off Oxford reading tree and putting him on free reading as he has finished all of the KS1 books (that are supposed to last him until hes 7!!). He's only 5 1/2!! I am still amazed by his reading, and his understanding. Guess he gets the love of reading from OH and I as we both love books..... I need to sort ou his books now so that I can get some new ones for him.

Mummy have you any kids books that are for older kids... more boyish stuff like rockets, trains, cars, sciencey type stuff?

Off to check ebay and get on with some work.... pop back later!

  • MummyandPaige - I have been selling on GreenMetropolis for a few years, it can be a bit hit and miss, I can have steady sales for a while, then nothing for weeks. The main reason I keep on with it is that I have the space to keep boxes of books and now I've sold enough to cover my initial investment anything i sell is profit. Before you start selling with them have a read through their forum for further opinions, some sellers are unhappy with the amount of profit after P&P.

Nixi, hope things look better this morning. 35? I'm looking at 45 this year!
