Right, I am considering chancing it and going down to Brum for the day for the national wedding show. About to buy train tickets - but what time is off peak I am so used to my oyster card I haven't the foggiest and the train website is not very helpful...

Mambury, my son was the same, and he went onto reading Astrosaurs books by Steve Cole, The Secret Seven books, books that are fine for that age but more advanced reading wise. When he was 6 we were told he had a reading age of a 12 year old!

Not sure about the PObox thing. I think they still give out your address if requested. I may be wrong but worth checking first. Dh had one for his business years ago and I am fairly sure I rtemember being surprised to read that.

Really Jo! Ooh I hope I don't ever hear from anybody - I had some pretty freaky confessions and I mean really weird.

From their terms and conditions for PO boxes
"Royal Mail reserves the right to give the
address (and title) of the PO Box holder to
any enquirers, and this information will be
added to the Royal Mail’s national address
database – the Postcode Address File (PAF).
Information on PAF is used to produce a
    number of Address Management products
that are available to the public."
and here they say you can request complete privacy only with a letter of endorsement from the police eg Womens refuge.

put this in red cos I think it is a common belief that your own address is then private.

OMG, parenting is tough! They shouldn't educate kids to believe babies are hard work, they're easy compared to all the stuff you have to deal with when they get a bit older!
I am forever telling people that to stop teenagers becoming parents theydon;t have to tell them about babies just tell them to imagine being parents to teenagers in 13 very short years !!

Only 10 more years for me, I'm going to have to find us a decent guy by then, I don't think I could deal with puberty on my own! :o

I know quite a few people who have got pregnant young on purpose, they have no lives now, especially the ones that had more kids after, before the first was even out of nappies. It only seems to be the ones who had genuinely accidently pregnancies that want to make something of their lives.

Don't get me wrong, I love DS to bits and wouldn't be without him for a second but there are far too many people out that who naively believe it's easy and they'll get a free house and loads of benefits and that does really bug me. I hate the fact that my tax credits are more than my income, I would love to be able to support us without handouts. I see teenagers pushing pushchairs and think how ridiculous they look and how sad it is and then realise, that was ME! :o

Basically, accidents happen, that's fine, people who chose to have babies rather than jobs are stupid, parenting is harder than any job.

Can you tell i'm in a fighting mood today? :rotfl:

I agree, my niece turns 5 next week and her mum turns 21 in May, accidents do happen, her and my bro have both plugged away together the last 5 years, they both have jobs (she is nearly finished with her NVQ in mental health care and he is a sales rep, neither of them made it to finishing their GSCE's), he has learned to drive and they have their own little rented house.

Handout wise, council is flooded by people like them, they gave up waiting after 2 years and did it all on their own, very proud of them!

On the other hand, friend I used to have in school, has never had a job, and by the time she hit 21, she was living in a crummy council flat with 3 kids by 3 diff blokes and is out on the tiles at least twice a week, curtesy of the benefits. (Facebook is wonderful thing letting you reconnect!)
