, also any specific applejuice, still fizzy IE appletise, just plain old apple juice??
If you are going to buy specially cheapo value apple juice is fine, if you have it to use up the fizzy would also work.

Mine was lovely. I only slow cooked it in a little water, then I let it rest for about 20 mins, then carved it with an electric knife. It didn't fall to bits, and was melt in the mouth.. lovely!

How long did you cook it for and which setting please?

I slow cooked one yesterday on high for 6 hours in only boiling water.

I left the sleeve on it and I dont think I let it stand for long enough because it fell apart, but it tasted great.

I cooked it on high for about 2 hours, then low for the rest.

I didn't realise there was a sleeve on it, so that got left on..

  • We enjoyed our lovely joint last night - cooked it in the oven and it was delicious!! So glad we picked up another 2 for the freezer can't wait to enjoy them!

    Got one today, thanks OP!
I've always boiled it before bit it's currently in the slow cooker with some coke.
They only had smoked left so hoping it's not too salty. Only had time to soak it for an hour or so first.

I cooked a smoked one at the weekend and didn't soak first. Not too salty at all. Lovely!!

I didn't get smoked, but mine was not very salty at all... I'd buy again.

Got two smoked joints, made a marinade of maple sauce, american mustard and a splash of worcester, cut the joint in half, diagonally slashed it all round (after removing the plastic) ;), brushed marinade in the cuts liberally, put it in an inner dish inside the slow cooker in about half an inch of coke, with about an inch of coke in the slow cooker itself around the inner dish, slow cooked on lowest setting for 8 hours, leave to stand covered for an hour, absolutely delightful, firm but carves nice and thin

Cut the other 3 uncooked halfs into quarters and frozen.for now.

    Great offer.
