Morning! I noticed that the 1% milk is still at £1 for 4 pints in Sainsburys. I don't normally shop there, but it was closer yesterday, and was pleased to see that their milk hasn't gone up.

Brummiebabe: will put up meal plan post later when I get in from school runs xNovember NSD's - 70 -
Brummiebabe:)
A typical week is as follows:
Breakfasts: cereal/toast/fruit (for ds3)
Lunch: Only sat and sunday as all kids hot school dinners, I usually have a sandwich/soup
Dinners:
Last night - macaroni cheese and garlicbread and cherry pie and custard (all tesco £5 meal deal)
Tonight - DS3 eats out with carer DD having beans and sausages on toast as she has beavers, DS1&2 are having pizza and chips and I will probably have some filled pasta (small bags 90p in Tesco for those nights I dont want to eat what the kids are having:D) Pudding will be yoghurts
Friday - All children here so will probably do Spaghetti bolognaise for Myself, DD and DS1. The other two will also have pasta but with tomato sauce and cheese! Pudding will be jelly (use 2 packs of 19p jelly from Tesco need a double jelly to feed my lot)
Saturday - Lunch for all with be sandwiches, crisps, cheese cubes, cucumber a yoghurt and slice of homemade victoria sponge. Dinner will be different this week as I am at a wedding, so me wedding food! Kids all at dads.
Sunday - lunch will be as saturday, dinner will be leftovers from fridge (jacket potatoes/toasties/omlette/dippy egg etc a use up night)
Monday - Cubs tonight so a quick HM dinnner from freezer for (lasagne/chilli/bolognaise/) all except DS3 who will have pepperoni pizza
Tuesday - A roast, DS3 will have chicken nuggets, waffles, beans. Pudding will be Ice cream with strawberry sauce and sprinkles
Wednesday - Chilli for all but DS3 who will have pasta/tomato sauce and cheese
This will vary week to week, quite often we will have a pie night or an egg night. I often cook 5 different meals on a theme to suit everyone but this has the added bonus of using up every leftover. I also will cook gammon/steak/chops but only eaten by me and DS1 so have to make something else for the others.
I usually cook up 6-8 JP at the weekend as they will get used up over the week if someone fancies something different than what I am cooking that night.
Snacks are usually HM cookies, cakes, flapjacks, fruit, cheese, crackers, toast etc. Kids are all very healthy and target weights. I don't buy cakes, biscuits, fizzy drinks etc. Kids will drink low calorie squash, water or milk.
They do get through a lot of food so I try and make as much of it as I can myself. I only buy 1 x 12 pk crisps a week (for weekend lunches) some weeks I dont need to buy any! We eat a lot of pasta in this house. I always freeze leftovers into single meal containers for those nights like beavers/cubs, where I dont need to cook a whole meal. Meat is the smallest portion on the plate I bulk out with other foods.
I dont know if I have forgotten anything HTH. It helps that my kids have hot school dinners, so they usually get 2 proper meals a day but if they only get one its not the end of the world!November NSD's - 70 -
Thanks for taking the time to do that JD! Am still impressed that you spend so little though as your meal plans are not hugely different from mine - the main difference is that I do 5 Packed lunches (3 children & me & DH) on weekdays - and the bits to put into this to make it varied and interesting do add up! Am impressed that you don't buy any biscuits....I do, but they're limited to 2 per day....some days they don't have them at all. Did some baking (flapjacks, cookies) last week which the kids enjoyed having in their lunchboxes - so probably need to get more organised and do this more often!
Can I ask (if you don't mind answering of course) do you include toiletries/household cleaning stuff in your budget - or do you budget that seperately?20p Saver Club #33 60p/£100
