That does seem quite a lot for the school trip, but as you say, they will have something to justify the cost, I am sure!

We were lucky at DD's first primary school (before we moved) that each child paid £5 a term fixed amount and that covered ALL school trips, cooking ingredients etc - we were never asked for anything else and everyone paid the same and had the same opportunities.

We did have a very active PTA though who were excellent at raising the balance of funds through the usual fetes, jumble sales and quiz and chips, so it all worked very well.

Sadly, since then, the cost of trips has just gone up phenomenally, and I have been dragged along armed with my chequebook and a big sigh, but I remember those first few years with fondness!!

Have a good day, and enjoy the cinema x

  • Back from tesco. Spent £6.24!:D

Grand total now spent £33.16! Which leaves £266.84. This now has to last 22 days:)

Bought cereal, milk, yoghurts, apples and sandwich meat.

This should be a good month!

    Morning:)

Had a great time at the cinema last night:) Film was fab and I really enjoyed just getting out for the evening!

Paid £10 to credit card this morning so £150 paid so far and £450 to go, it is coming down nicely!

Have done banking and spreadsheets, all still on target and no nasties cropped up so far this month.

Will not be a NSD today as have to take DS1 to the dentist at the hospital and need to pay for parking:(

My friend is coming over tonight to finalise stuff for her wedding, I am making the favours and place settings which I am working on currently. Wedding is on 18th so need to get finishing:D

    Off to make another cuppa!

  • Morning all:)

Running a bit late this morning! No NSD yesterday and probably not today either!

Took back some clothes yesterday but didn't get a refund, just swapped them for different ones. Still planning on doing most of my winter clothes shop in London, but will probably do some of it before I go as have decided I don't want to carry it all home:) Desperately need more clothes as most of mine are have holes now! Finally found a coat I liked yesterday although I didn't buy it, I have looked at some many now and haven't liked any I have seen, found this one in River Island, aren't winter coats so expensive! One thing I don't mind paying out for though as mine usually last about 3 years so good investment especially with school runs in winter brrrrr!:D

Off for breakfast with mums from school this morning, I always look forward to these get togethers, such fun!

Better wake up DS1 for paper round now otherwise he will be late! Have a great day!

  • Hope you had a good day JD!! Know what you mean about the winter coats......I've not bought a new one for around 3 years but really need one this year....especially if we have a winter like last year!! My difficulty is getting one that's suitable for schoolruns, work (where I drive round a lot) and for normal day to day wear! Haven't had a look yet......bit worried about what they'll cost!:(

Have a great weekend ....and have you noticed the milk's gone up to £1.25 this week!!!!! It'll no doubt drop back down again..it's happened a few times over the last few months.
