First day of new school year and I wake up at 4am!!!! I guess at least I won't oversleep this morning:D

Done banking and updated spreadsheets. All looking good so far. Yesterday was a NSD so have updated my signature. After the school run this morning I will be popping into town to get DS2 a new PE shirt, and will probably nip into Iceland which is just opposite and pick up some pizzas for the DS3.

Got news yesterday that DS1 passed his exams :T so I am a very proud mum!! I had promised to take him out for dinner if her passed and he would like to go to Pizza Hut, so I have been searching around for deals/vouchers so that it won't cost the earth! I think we will go between 3-6pm so that we can have their happy hour menu, which costs £5 each:beer: I am so happy he passed!!

Will need to go and get some petrol this morning as have to take DS3 to the dentist this afternoon , I will also need to get some milk as I am running a bit low. So not a NSD for me today but planned spends so not too bad. Think it will total about £90:eek: I am planning for NSD's tomorrow and sunday! Will need to spend on Saturday as I am taking kids to cineworld movies for juniors (£1 each!).

Off to have a browse and another cuppa!

  • Back from Tesco, spent £22.34 and also bought enough milk to last until monday. £277.66 left:) Put £50 petrol in the car which if I am careful should last the month. Didn't need to go into town as was informed we didn't need to buy a new style PE shirt until next year:) Saved the £20 I had budgeted for that:D Will get the pizza's next time I have to go into town instead. Will need to pay for parking at the hospital when I take Ds3 to the dentist this afternoon but hoping that will be it for today!

Good news on the exam results, and a bonus in not having to buy the PE shirt :T

    Thanks Hypno!

Took the kids to Pizza Hut this evening for dinner (mainly to avoid spending tomorrow and ruining a perfectly good NSD if I am completely honest:D) Spent £34.56. Everyone was totally stuffed and ate loads! The kids certainly made use of the refills :) Also spent less than budgeted for the car park at the hospital, result!

Am going to stay in tomorrow and keep my hand out of my purse!

Paid £10 to CC for 100 days Challenge:) £590 and 98 days to go! Have a few pennies to come back from Quidco so will also be putting these to the cc balance when they come in, not much but it all helps:)

    Morning all:)

    Aims for today:

    - have a NSD, no matter how much I am tempted, keep my purse closed!
    - have a bit of a sort out now kids are back to school and throw away/recycle/sell anything I can:) I hate clutter!
    - do some housework!
    - Make a start on 2011 budget and plan more things to do with kids that don't cost the earth.
    - Go over menu plan for next week and check I am using up all leftovers etc

Tired this morning, think I could do with a lovely nap at some point today. DS3 crawled into my bed last night and I was too tired to put him back in his so he is still there now:) Just woken DS1 up for his paper round and DD is sleeping soundly, think she was worn out from her first day back!

Off to have a browse and a cuppa. Have a great day everyone x

Managed my NSD today as planned:j

Tickets arrived for open top bus tour and a large map of all the routes so I can fully plan our trip:)

Did manage a bit of a sort but was then interrupted by my dad who came over to mow my garden, weed and take my rubbish to the tip so he has saved me a job:D

Got a nice nap in and loads of other things sorted. Did a bit of work on next years budget too.

Ds1&2 are at their dads tonight so easy tea for me and youngest two.

Off to Cineworld in the morning for 'Films for Juniors' to watch Planet 51 so am looking forward to that:) Will report back with total cost but hoping won't be too expensive! Won't be a NSD that's for sure!

I think this 100 day challenge is going to be great! I will be making the min payment to my card on 15th so all other amounts I have paid/ will pay are going to be extras:j

These challenges really focus the mind. I like doing the GC a lot. I put the months money on my pay pal top up card and when its gone, its gone. Can't spend over what I don't have:) This ensures I meal plan to maximum effect and stops me spending on unnecessary items.

Will need to go over list of items to use up sometime today so I can see what to make over this weekend. I know I need to make some more cakes/biscuits as I have run out and the kids are eating Tesco Value chocolate biscuits that I still had leftover. I know that next weeks food shop will probably be a bigger one as I need to restock meat and the freezer supplies are gradually going down! Having the back to school and on free lunches is going to really help this month, as they are only eating two meals a day here and not snacking as much.

I didn't think DD would take to school hot dinners, but I was wrong, she is loving them:) I also have no lunch boxes to make in the morning for the first time in 9 years:D

Spose I had better get off the computer and start getting sorted...maybe another cuppa first:)

    Update:

    Cost of cinema = £5.00
    Cost of Mcdonalds = £16.05

Shocking! However the money spent at Mcdonalds was far better than the £6.20 each I could have spend in the cinema on just a regular popcorn and regular coke! Which would have cost me a whopping £31, so as far as I am concerned £14.95 saved there and I didn't have to make lunch:D

I am thinking I may make this a once a month outing not once a week or find something cheaper to do with them:D

Didnt feel comfortable taking in our own stuff to eat and drink as it is against policy.
