Morning!
Had a fab day out yesterday, the kids had a lot of fun but the queues were awful! My kids were really well behaved although DS3 did tell a couple of women who were shouting to be quiet as shouting was unacceptable
All in all a great day out.
I managed to stay in budget too and came home with change in my purse!
I have just checked banking and forgot it was a bank holiday on monday, so I had a payment into the account today, but direct debits that are due to come out of the account monday won't come out until tuesday, so I am still in the black! It is so nice to see black instead of red:D
I am not going to cancel my over draft until I have paid back the credit card as I don't have any savings atm, so I need something in case of emergencies. Once the other card is paid back, I will cancel the first. I will keep doing this until I have a pot of savings (which could be a while!).
My main goal is to be completely in the black, no debt and £500 in savings by the end of August 2011. The £500 will cover me if anything happened like the washing machine broke or something similar.
Thats the plan anyways.
Have a great day all xxNovember NSD's - 70 -
Sounds like a plan to me!
Glad you had a good day yesterday, and even better to be coming home with change in your purse :T

Morning everyone! It is sunny here this morning and apparently staying dry until tuesday so few good washing days to be had!
Up and done banking this morning, all looking very good for the 1st September. Spent a lot of time yesterday rejigging budget and taking into account some of the little expenses that are coming up that I had forgotten about, I don't want anything to muck up this new budget except a real emergency if it happened.
Off to Tesco this morning for my last proper shop of August. Will be buying some extra milk to stick in the freezer to avoid having to buy any from the corner shop until I can get to Tesco again on Thursday. I will work out later now much I have saved this month buying creamfields milk instead of my normal milk. It won't be that much as I only started buying it a week or so ago, but it will still be a saving! I am planning on doing the same for the full month of September. I think I will save about £30 ish a month.
I have put myself down for £300 for the September Grocery Challenge. I know I can come within budget for this!!!
I am also joining the NSD I think I will be aiming for 12 days. This challenge really makes you think about every time you spend, which ultimately saves you money, a brilliant challenge to join.
The 100 days v one debt challenge will help me pay off my credit card and then I can cancel my overdraft. 1st sept to 30 nov I can, no, will, do this!
I am really pleased with my new budget, I have allowed breathing room within it so that I can still take the trips I have planned. I have allocated an amount for my trip to London on 1st October, which is when I will be buying my winter clothes. I already have boots, but could do with a new coat, scarf and gloves, some vest tops and a couple of pairs of jeans. These will see me through the winter and until I have paid everything back.
Better get on as I am going to Tesco at 8am:) Have a great day all xNovember NSD's - 70 -
Hi Jamie
All sounds very organised and in control. I like the sound of the London shopping trip too - can I come!
Good luck with the challenges and Have a good weekend

Hi Macgirl, I can't wait to go away, really looking forward to it, going to see Grease The Musical:)
Back from Tesco, spent £20.83 which gives me a total spent for August of : £206.64, which is £18.36 under budget:D:D:D
Just worked out the milk thing too.....I have saved £15.45 in August buying Creamfields milk instead of my usual Skimmed. Bearing in mind I only changed over two weeks ago, so a potential saving of over £30 for September. Very pleased about this, once again thanks to Brummiebabe!!November NSD's - 70 -
Morning all!
Dunno why I woke up this early on a sunday! Weather hasnt decided what it is doing yet so neither have I!:D
The last two weeks of this month have gone so fast! 2 days left of the month nothing left to buy so I have declared my August GC a resounding success coming in under budget (fingers crossed September will be as good).:j
My freezer and cupboards are well stocked and raring to go for the next challenge.:T
I will be shopping in Tesco next on the 2nd September, I bought enough milk yesterday so I could freeze some.
Off to make a cuppa and contemplate what I should do today!November NSD's - 70 -
Def sounds like you are primed and ready to go for the next few weeks!
The milk thing is amazing isn't it - just goes to show that the little things really can make a big difference. Over £350 a year, just by picking up a different bottle of milk!! That is amazing!
