    Hi all,

Wish I'd walked to the Polling Station!

Just got back - managed to back my car into another one! Not convinced it was my fault - but the old boy who was driving the other car got very nasty!

Have just spent 75 minutes (!) on the phone (0870 number!) to my insurance company, who have advised me that I am liable! Plus - I have just discovered that my excess has been increased rrom £100 last year to £300 this year. I am about to dispute this - another 0870 number.

And I thought this month was going to be easier ....

Just proves that pride does indeed go before a fall!

I need a large dose of that humour now! (I suppose it could have been worse - could have killed somebody!)

    Ann

Typical woman driver eh? (grabs his jacket and runs) hehe - hope you're ok?

do not ring 0870 - use this and get local rate number: http://www.saynoto0870.com/

Thanks NID (at least, I think so!)

Not going to rise to this particular bait!

Am too stressed out and shaken up - not to mention annoyed with myself - to respond!

But - it may be different later - after I have had a cup of tea and laid into the insurance company for TREBLING my excess.

And thanks for the telephone numbers - that IS appreciated.

Oh no mouseann!!! Just when things were looking brighter for you. :(

Just off to post some letters and vote - about a 2 minute walk - polling station next to post box so don't think I'll burn off too many calories. :rotfl:

    Thanks everyone,

You are all so supportive - and not even judging me on this (well, not much!)

Have calmed down a bit now! Still quite cross with myself - but have had a rant at the insurance company who are going to get the Head of Customer Relations involved, because I am contending that I did not receive written notice of this increase to my excess. Which will probably mean that I will just get a nice letter of apology - but at least I have made my point - and increased my phone bill. Thanks for the numbers, though - NID - very useful, will remember in future.

    Thanks Jinny,

Am gradually feeling slightly more normal now - but still beating myself up!

At least there was nothing nasty (or nice, come to that!) in the post when I got home! Just a few gentle reminders about overdue payments ....

That's a wonderful outlook, Jinny! Let's hope your water is right!

After all it is only a lump of metal - and 300 quid!!!

Am feeling absolutely drained now - after the adrenaline surge! And I was looking forward to watching the results tonight.

Am going to have a rest now and see how I feel later.
