I wanted to play a game last night and couldn't because of a fault that a HUGE company failed to recognise.
Its simply good practise for them to offer us something. The actual loss is hard to quantify but it remains that it's most expensive console and such school-boy errors should not be occurring.
I would say they should offer everyone effected access to some downloadable content, like a £5 gift voucher for their online store.:rotfl::o:o
for what 1 days lost gaming?
i suggest you got to the library sign up for your free library card and rent some books
wil that be enough ?:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -

Funny how microsoft have never done that when their 'genuine authentification' failed to tell some software was genuine
At least Sonys was hardware related and very difficult for them to put right until theyd sourced the problem. Microsoft physically wrote their OWN software to mess up peoples computers:idea:0 -
Personally I think the issue has been made to sound worse than it actually was.
The only thing I lost was a Fallout 3 save from sunday, just means I've got to talk to everyone in Megaton again, might see if I can save the sheriff this time from Mr Burke!
A lot of fuss over nothing!Useful is beautiful0 -
For christs sake, some people need to get a grip, yes I was slightly annoyed but these things happen with technology sometimes.0

Here Here. Some people were acting as though their lives were going to end and demanding compensation.
If this is the worst thing that happens to you this week, think yourself lucky! If you can't survive without your PS3 for 24 hours, you've got serious problems and a serious lack of imagination!0 -
I think it does highlight a serious issue though, many people had trouble using the console even for offline purposes. So what happens when Sony decide to shut down the PSN? All those games you paid for will be useless. People are still quite happily playing original SNES consoles 20 years on, but it doesn't look like they will be able to do the same with a PS3.
Therein lies the folly of DRM.0 -

I hardly think its as bad as that. Sony will probably issue a fix that means games don't have to access trophy information what starting up.
Failing that, the next PS will probably use the same PSN as the PS3, there will just be different sections, so I can't see it being shut down for many years to come, if ever.0 -
