Hello you lovely lot, can anyone recommend a good moisturiser they have tried in their quest to use all their lotions and potions?

I currently use Clarins Hydraquench stuff (SO EXPENSIVE) - so something simmilar to that would be preferable, just not such a simmilar price tag!

OLAY Regenerist 3 point cream or the new Nick Lowe cream from Boots. Both are probably around £25 so not cheap but cheaper than Clarins. Or for something really cheap the Aldi creams get great reviews on here (but they don't have SPF). Others might recommend the new No7 Lift and Luminate creams or protect and perfect, again No7. I think No7 is overpriced so I wouldn't choose those for myself. Or if you shop around for Clarins you would probably find a gift with purchase which would make it better value. Hope that gives you a few ideas:)

Right, I confess, I caved, and I don't care :rotfl:

I went to my local Tesco's, they had the 3 for £2 still on the shelf labels, and lots of stock, so I spent £6 and got 9 things. I was fairly good - before I would have gone mad and got loads, even stuff I might not use - but this time I only (!!) got 3 conditioners (JF FrizzEase and Sheer blonde) which I do and will use (once I get through the others...), 2 heat defense sprays, 2 serums, and 2 shine mists - all of which I don't have, I was just making do with other stuff to use random stuff up.

But for £6 I feel no guilt at all for buying the stuff I actually like and want to use - sorry girls, sometimes an offer is just too good to say no too :A

(And my Tesco receipt says I saved £42.10:eek:)

So hit me with the lines if you like - it was worth it! (And £6 transferred to my savings pot to 'punish' myself. I will now go continue berating myself by having a luxurious shower :rotfl:)

I agree with you, too good to resist. I'm wondering if it applies in Ireland? Probably not...I'm thinking of going to Tesco tomorrow just to check for the shampoo offer and magazines:o

Is it just me, or do others find that since starting this challenge, they look through their stash to see if there are any 'product types' you do not own so you can justify buying something?

I'm more inclined to purchase things from a brand that I haven't used before. I love trying new things:)

Ooh, new thread! I haven't been on for over a week, thanks to having to work down in that London and being booked into a hotel with no t'internet. I was absolutely gibbering with withdrawal symptoms by the time I got home!

Anyway, I had a little slip up last week, but it was more out of neccessity than anything else. I managed to leave my toiletries bag at home and said hotel only provided soap. Not even shampoo! So, I bought some Boots coconut and almond shampoo. WIBA? No, left my hair feeling really matted and dull. Smelled quite nice though.

I also bought some Waitrose cinnamon cake bath foam (I was looking for an excuse to buy this after reading abot it on here :o). WIBA? Afraid not, I thought it had a bit of a strange smell, more cake than cinnamon.

On that basis, there's no way I'd ever be able to use these up so I left them behind in the hotel.

Keep up the good work girls!

Oh, nearly forgot, bought OH some Arpege aftershave for a bargain £6 in TK Maxx at the weekend for a treat.

Uh oh, I'd almost forgotten about the Waitrose stuff  Must stay away!

Oh yes! I really need a body oil and a shower oil :D

Definitely! And different smells and now I have a bit of an obsession with matching smells.

Finished a Dead Sea Spa Magik shampoo today, I think it's really good for my hair! Of course it could be all the other stuff I'm putting on it too :rotfl:. Anyway I looked on the site today and the shampoo costs £8

My nails today are W7 glitter pink (touched up on the ends - it's lovely I love it, I may not be able to resist buying the green one when I'm near a Factory Shop again!) and a L'Oreal black one on my toes (wish I had a steady enough hand to apply to my fingernails :o)

By the way, I don't know if this has been mentioned but the Glamour/James Brown offer has 3 types of freebie; shampoo, conditioner and hair treatment (all in seperate mags iyswim). Would like the shampoo and conditioner :D

Finally managed to prise the lid off my huge tub of conditioner. It smells odd, bit of a change from my S&G Hair Supply but a snip of the price too, so that's to be expected. Looking forward to trying it tomorrow.

Also managed to palm the dreaded Herbal Essences onto my mum... and bought another shampoo today for £1. Just a plain old Asda one which I hope I like, as the bottle is huge :o

edit - forgot what I actually came here to say! I've been using the 2True pressed powder for a couple of days now and am really impressed with it when you consider it's only £1.95. Okay so it doesn't last all day but it lasted for 5 hours which I'm happy with. Colour match isn't spot on but is the best I've found from all the brands that Superdrug stock.

I'm glad and yet ever-so-slightly gutted that there isn't a waitrose anywhere near me :o

I have a plumber coming over tomorrow morning to sort out the shower in my bathroom. Anyway, tonight I have been relocating my bathroom stash and it is scaring me how much there is - this is only the stuff I am using at the moment, I have much more hidden away...

Today is March 1st and so far I have bought a reduced No7 cosmetic bag (down from £12 to £3) that I will give to someone as a gift (probably my Mum), some Batiste dry shampoo (but as I have said before, I use this all the time and it is one product I really go through). I also bought a make up brush with the No7 voucher (it is a mascara brush and I don't have one and it was practically free) and a 17 Mascara set with eye shadow and nail polish (for £2.50) online that I saw on the Grabbit board... oh dear! In my defence, I also go through a lot of mascara and will either ebay or give away the other bits in the set and for £2.50, it was a bargain...

Not a great start to the month though and I am supposed to be saving to go to my cousin's wedding in NZ later in the year... :o

    Me too.
    3 x mousse
    3 x shampoo
    3 x conditioner
    3 x serum
All for the princely sum of £8.
To be fair though, before this challenge between me and DD I was probably spending more than that every few days on various stuff so don't feel guilty. It's still money saving after all, as it's stuff I will definitely use and love. :j

I'm so glad I live miles away from the nearest Tesco so can't be tempted by this offer.
