No buying toiletries in March challenge!

Aaaaargh can't believe it just saw the Tesco grabbit for the John Frieda shampoo and I am probably going to miss it tomorrow but will pop in to tesco on the way to work and see. Just my luck as I was only saying yesterday that I had just used up the last of my supply lol. Anyway if it's not meant to be it's not meant to be. At least it's tesco and not boots so I shouldn't be tempted by too much else.
Not used anything else up today although I am nearing the end of an eyeshadow. I am going to have a paint your nails Tuesday as I am tired now and going to bed (having had another half hour to do my new beauty regime lol).
March resolution is to only buy shampoo and to keep up with this thread0 -
And I hear Glamour magazine has some James Brown hair conditioner:D
Then there's the No7 vouchers at Boots and Soap+Glory is still 1/3 off at Boots. This challenge is proving difficult. This was on my door step when i got home today. does a free gift with a mag count as spending if i was already subscribed (5 issues £5) to it anyway?!?!?
it is james brown, intensively glossy rescue treatment. 100ml
also I was naughty and went to tesco. got 9 items of frizz ease stuff for £6.
this is a very bad start to this challenge - quite embarrassing really:o
I got the same treatment with mine (also delivered as part of the £5 subscription, which is def not cheating :A - it looks awesome. 100ml version of this: http://www.boots.com/en/James-Brown-London-Scandalous-Intensely-Glossy-Rescue-Treatment-150ml_951843/ .
And I did the same at Tesco - 9 items for £6 - you must be my long lost identical twin :rotfl:Would it be good to add this, and the original OP by katie clampet to the first post of each new thread?
As well as PYNM and Fab Full-On Friday Pamper? And any other acronyms that may confuse newbies, such as WIBA?
Oh, and links to the orginal and february thread?
Great idea!
Should add, there was also a free simple lip moisturiser waiting for me when I got home - full size. I swear the universe knows I'm trying to declutter and is deliberately coming up with loads of freebies and really cheap offers to ruin me - not that I mind :rotfl:0 -
Yet another newbie joining offically today (after finally getting to the end of the January & February threads yesterday...).
I am a qvc beauty addict (in fact watching the Liz Earle show while doing this..is there any hope for me?) but have not bought or even been tempted to buy from qvc since mid January.
Last beauty buy was last week (£4.97 from MrTs) but other than that, nowt at all.
I am tempted by the Neals Yard freebie but with your help I will resist, as I have enough moisturiser for probably the next 2 years...(goes and hides in shame).
Unlike a lot of you, I am not tempted by Boots or Soap and Glory. But Lush can get me from time to time.
Happy to be a part of this!!!0 -
I have been really good at using up part used products since starting to read these threads, and have got rid of loads of bottles/tubes in the recycle bin.
I been keeping a spreadsheet of what I have used up, and what it would cost to replace if nothing to replace in stash (and if I paid full rrp, which I never do...qvc kits...need I say more?) and the total for the last 6 weeks is over £400!!!0 -
It doesn't matter! I've donated opened bottles or part-used packs/ tubes etc and they're always very gratefully received. It makes a huge difference to people who need all the help they can get, and is a good way to have a good clear out at home0

I also do not like body butter... will you all still be my friend..?!!0

Is it just me, or do others find that since starting this challenge, they look through their stash to see if there are any 'product types' you do not own so you can justify buying something?0

Ooh, new thread! I haven't been on for over a week, thanks to having to work down in that London and being booked into a hotel with no t'internet. I was absolutely gibbering with withdrawal symptoms by the time I got home!
Anyway, I had a little slip up last week, but it was more out of neccessity than anything else. I managed to leave my toiletries bag at home and said hotel only provided soap. Not even shampoo! So, I bought some Boots coconut and almond shampoo. WIBA? No, left my hair feeling really matted and dull. Smelled quite nice though.
I also bought some Waitrose cinnamon cake bath foam (I was looking for an excuse to buy this after reading abot it on here). WIBA? Afraid not, I thought it had a bit of a strange smell, more cake than cinnamon.
On that basis, there's no way I'd ever be able to use these up so I left them behind in the hotel.
Keep up the good work girls!
Oh, nearly forgot, bought OH some Arpege aftershave for a bargain £6 in TK Maxx at the weekend for a treat.0 -

I have to say I haven't - I have certain products I use, and certain products I don't, and although I am sometimes tempted to try something new I won't generally go looking for new types of products to use.
Another one here just taken advantage of the Tesco glitch! :rotfl: I did give it serious thought beforehand, and decided that, as was said above, the offer was simply too good not to purchase. I did do it sensibly though - spent £6, got 9 items of which 6 were conditioner (4 x Brilliant Brunette and 2 x Charles Worthington) and 3 were Shampoo (2 x Brilliant Brunette and 1 x Charles Worthington) - considering I have more shampoo than conditioner in my stash at the moment and I go through conditioner faster than shampoo as well, I thought that was fairly sensible! My saving was £37.20 if I was to buy at full price, or £22.80 if I was to have bought at the usual 3 for 2 prices. Yes.
That's why last month I bought a massage bar and a lip scrub - I didn't own either of those "product types" so they were justified in my mind.
Now why the heck do I need a lip scrub?!?!
Oh, I remember now, because the first listed ingredient is sugar and I've been using it as a ... er... tongue scrub:D
