No buying toiletries in March challenge!

Well... have just had a look at what I've got stashed. I've found quite a few nice suprises so will be having a nice pampering bath later
.
For some reason I seem to have 3 bottles of moisturising self tan and 7 deodorants!! So if nothing else I will smell nice and have a healthy glow during March!
I'm going to set myself a challenge of not spending more than £10 this month as still need a few bits. I reckon the only way I'm going to do it is by avoiding Boots (usually seem to 'accidently' end up in there during my lunch breaks).

I've just gone and broken the challenge already! I've bought a fair few bottles in the tesco glitch-planning to use them as presents! Plus I'm down to my last bottle of shampoo.... Finally!
I might succumb to that too - if there's a Tesco's on the way home with anything in stock. No point me ordering for delivery as I doubt it would get delivered, and I'd have to pay for delivery, but if there's any about as I pass, I'll buy and not feel at all guilty, as I would def use it! :A0 -
Hi, I'm tempted to join your No Buying toiletries challenge as I have a few drawers that look like I raided a chemists shop.
I've got far too much Body Butter given to me as presents as I dont really like the stuff myself.
I have loads of hair care products too. But I need facial moisturezer and cleanser.
Is there an MSE substitute for either of these.I'm thinking of finishing off the Bio oil as daily mousturizer. Any thoughts / subtitutions for cleanser?

Afternoon all
At the weekend DD gave me 3 No 7 vouchers as she split her shop into 3 transactions (I have trained her well)
I have not purchased anything for myself with them, I picked up the men's No 7 face wash, scrub & shaving gel for my uncle's bithday, I will add a buff coloured flannel, razor, blades & comb and that is his birthday present sorted; spent £4.50.
On the downside they had the following items reduced
Sanctuary drench sponges reduced to £1.79 so I bought the last three on the shelf. (they are for me as I love these sponges & mine was looking past it's best)
Sanctuary scrubby mitts £1.79 last one on the shelf.
Sanctuary foot file £1.79 last one on the shelf.
Sanctuary foot scrubber £1.79 last one on she shelf.
The mitts/file & scrubber are part of my sister's birthday present, I already have the Sanctuary body products.
I then used my new No 7 vouchers for the hand mitts x 2 spent £2.00 one pair for sis & the other pair for myself as mine were looking really ropey.
I have sold a load of toiletries on Ebay so have used the money from this.0 -
I am not encouraging spending, but thought this was a good offer
Marie Claire April magazine contains a free Neal's Yard Power Berry Daily Moisture Cream worth £10.50.0 -
What I like best about the challenge is the group beautification. I'm going with hardener for PYNM...and a good time spent hand massaging hands and painting nails.
I have given my self a facial massage with oil today and skin certainly look bit clearer and brighter. I must remember to tell the endocrinologist about my skin the last few months...note to self .
I'm also planning a nice scented bath tonight. I've been spending some time getting to grips with the epilator and think I'm getting better. I haven't found it too bad on legs at all. the only problem is I practised on my (not very hairy)arm, and suppose I better match the other one up? I hope I haven't risked stimulating lots of hair where it was fine. Also never realised how freckly my arms were getting till spending so long looking at them.Age spots are my future

And I hear Glamour magazine has some James Brown hair conditioner:D
Then there's the No7 vouchers at Boots and Soap+Glory is still 1/3 off at Boots. This challenge is proving difficult.Total debt 11/1/2011 €5350.65Total debt 12/12/12 €3222.31CrazyClothesChallenge 2013 #006 €34.08/€5000 -
Hi Ladies and ghappy St David's Day, finished one of the Radox Relax shower gels today.
And was supremely self controlled in MrM when they had reduced Tresemme conditioner at £1.49 from £2.99.
As for perfume, one bottle very rarely used its Ken-something Flower.
Have a good March,

May as well fess up before I actually commit this sin...
Just about to pop to tesco to try and take advantage of the 3 for £2 glitch posted on Grabbit. It's too good to miss, and to be fair I don't have a lot of shampoos/conditioners.
I will be good though and not buy too much
Will report back for my slapped wrists!Come ride with me, through the veins of history...
I'll show you how God falls asleep on the job.

Happy St David's Day everyone :hello:
I will try to keep up with this thread this month :A Had a Fab February, only bought nail varnish remover (not counting bodyshop blip, it was returned!) and that was at the end of the month.
Don't need anything again in March - so toiletries budget will again () be zero. But I will be going to a salon for my birthday, however that doesn't count :rotfl::AHappy St David's Day, ladies!
Welcome to all the newbies to the Challenge:j
Regulars ignore this, but I thought a quick resume might be helpful for newbies;
Why not add the challenge to your sig as a reminder?
How about taking a bit of time to do a stock-take and see if there are any gaps in your stash that you might need to spend on this month? Some of us set a budget for the month for essential purchases or to help with withdrawal symptoms, others like to go cold-turkey!!
Remember the challenge is about making the most of your money, enjoying your products, finding which products really suit you best and are worth buying, giving yourself a well-deserved pampering and breaking the habit of buying for the sake of buying. In money-saving tradition, it should also be about making your products l-a-s-t as long as possible ( although the temptation of using an unloved shower gel extravagently to finish it off is sometimes to much to bear!)- Brand new products ( or opened perfume) sell well on ebay
- Unsuitable products can be used for other jobs (shower gel/ shampoo as handwash etc)
- Some items can be returned to certain stores for exchange (for essential items or gifts!!) without a receipt
- Unwanted items can be recycled as gifts or for gift hampers (saving the money you'd have spent on gifts)
- Unsuitable items can be donated to charity as mentioned earlier.
, grabbit board, online toiletries browsing, seductive department store beauty counter offers etc. Remember retailers are making offers and promotions all the time, so there'll always be another deal!
Good luck all for March and remember to keep popping in for inspiration and support.
Would it be good to add this, and the original OP by katie clampet to the first post of each new thread?
As well as PYNM and Fab Full-On Friday Pamper? And any other acronyms that may confuse newbies, such as WIBA?
Oh, and links to the orginal and february thread?

Today I finished a kerastase shampoo and mask, it was ok but I probably wouldn't buy again. Too rich for my hair, but ok for summertime.
Have finished loads of body butters, lotions, etc since my last post.
But still the dispoable razors live on. They just won't die  :rotfl:0
