Hiya Mozzy, yeah I was starting to feel that I was cleaning when everyone else is fast asleep!!! Thats great news about your OH, I hope he likes it, my OH got one after a month here but hates it and is looking for something else.
We have been here a year today and I've only been flying again a week!! Took me a while to get back into a routine!! I'm also loving being near the beach, 5 mins walk however the sand in the house is a NIGHTMARE!!!

Anyway, everyone is up and breakfasted, off to watch a rugby match on the beach and then going to finish my list for the week. OH is out tonight so got myself Couples Retreat to watch with a bottle of red wine....looking forward to my day!!

I'm trying to get on board with flylady, but finding it difficult to maintain the momentum... I have been decluttering for most of last year, a control journal and can usually stick to the cleaning for about a fortnight, and then suddenly I think, oh well, my house looks fine, it won't matter if I miss a day... and then suddenly it's back to [STRIKE]normal[/STRIKE] being completely messy...

Does anyone have any tips to sticking with it and not backsliding? How did you get past the idea of cleaning when it looks clean?!

    Any tips gratefully received!
sorry I didnt reply earlier, I only skimmed,:o but since Toots pointed it out:A

    Well.......

It has taken me a long time to get into the swing of it. I would start with good intentions, then fall by the wayside:o BUT eventually I realised I was only kidding myself.

The wat i see it now is this.......easier to do 10 mins in a room than 2 hours in a room;):D

    ((List update))

popping on to say hello again (are you all ignoring me ??? and didnt there used to be a confused smilie??)

I hope you arent all thinking I have just not bothered coming on over the last month or so. I suppose I havent, but its been for 2 reasons - firstly, laptop battery dead so every time I unplug it it dies, its not portable at all now, and I keep leaving it in random places where I am not IYSWIM.
Also I'm very pre-occupied with DS and the assessment/diagnosis, they suspect Aspergers and we are going back for further assessment next week. His tics have been getting much worse, they are now causing him physical aches and pains, and they are coming out as involuntary noises as well, which is not just distressing but bl00dy irritating as well (sorry I know thats not very sympathetic sounding, is it ?!!!).
His teacher is fairly supportive but un-trained thought doing her best, and I started going on a parenting course for "Additional Needs" last week. Still reeling from the possibility of Aspergers a bit though, and worry for his future.

I know its OT but I wanted to explain why I havent been around much.

    Now for my list:

    Weekend jobs:
    Make some bread
Get all uniform washed and dried
    Do Asda shop
Re-join the gym as PAYG member
    Drop off Nicola's paperwork
Send cards for Harvey, Thomas, Joe, ASue and Clare/Mark
    Ironing
    Clean en suite
    Clean main bathroom
    Clean downstairs loo
    Declutter spare room bed
    Dust and deweb front room
    Dust and deweb hall
    Dust and deweb playroom
    Mop kitchen floor
    Change all the beds
    Hoover upstairs
    Hoover downstairs
    Hoover stairs
Jan GC: £202.65/£450 (as of 4-1-12)
    NSDs: 3
    Walk to school: 2/47

Hi there :wave:I have fallen off and back on the 'Flylady' bandwaggon many times over the past few years so know where you're coming from. I find it easier to forget the control journal altogether and simply follow the weekly thread here rather than relying on the Flylady emails. I find them a whole job in themselves just looking through and picking out the stuff I need plus they seem to arrive at the wrong time for me as they're all sent on American time. My tip is definitely clearing up your kitchen and 'shining your sink' each night, even when you just want to fall into bed and leave the whole thing cause I find it really does make a difference to the start of your day. So even when I'm at my most disorganised I try to keep up with this. Then look at the daily lists on this thread (mine are printed and put on my notice board so every time I pass I can glance to see if there's anything I fancy tackling). Just choose one or two things that suit you. For example on Monday this week you could just have decluttered and wiped your work surfaces, Tuesday decluttered & vacuumed the living room floor or if they were already clean picked something else to do or had a rest that day. You get what I mean. If you can't do a day catch up on another day for example I find reception rooms more important cause visitors are more likely to see so if I couldn't do something every day of one week I might miss the master bedrrom altogether or the study/spare room stuff.

Eventually some bits of it become habit the rest you will be able to take or leave. Its not getting 3 stars that's important just doing a few little jobs here and there whatever makes you feel good. If you ever get stuck with what to do next you can always come on here and see if anyone's up for a HHC with you, like Prettypennies said, that can get you motivated to do a fair bit of stuff in a half hour. Other than that, if you feel your house is tidy enough just check the lists of things to do and just think its good you don't need to do them that day, then check back again the day after. I'm never going to have a show home, I just get pleasure evertime I get rid of yet another pile of rubbish I've allowed to pile up somewhere in the house yet again (with the knowledge it probably will creep back yet again lol).

(sorry waffling on way too much :o0

Whilst I'm here I may as well admit I have achieved nothing off the list for Friday, may get a chance to catch some of it up tomorrow. Hope to get motivated, DD2s room looks like we've been burgled, like her younger sister her favourite game is 'how many cupboards and drawers can you empty in a 2 hour period?' Also I have a ton of stuff on my landing now waiting to either go up the loft or to charity so I think sorting that stuff would give me a warm fuzzy feeling once done :)
