I work full time, and have two small children, and at certain times of the year, I work two jobs. I rarely get stars, but aim for level 1s on work days.
I think you should aim for level ones and feel pleased with yourself when you get them done. Then if you have any more time, aim for level 2s.
    Good luck.
I work full time too... stupid hours, stupid workload and even worse, I work in the middle of all the mess most of the time. No small children though :(. I fly when I can - so clear up the kitchen when I'm cooking (or making hot water bottles in the evening). Bathroom before or after use. Study when the piles of paper threaten to obscure the laptop. Ironing during conference calls where I'm not required to concentrate too much. I have to try to maintain standards - so put clothes away properly every night/morning etc otherwise they slip rapidly, and I find it all gets too much and I get depressed by it. And then have to have a major blitz.

My dad has taken pity on me, and is coming down on Sunday evening to a. help me fix the DW (if I haven't managed to do it by then) and b. work out exactly what the builders HAVE to do and in what order and how long it will take. It'll be nice to see him.... must make sure I have something edible available...

I wonder if I can pick your brains please. I REALLY want to be able to fly and keep all my rooms looking nice but it's proving very hard. I do have certain commitments on my time: 3 hours typing per day (roughly), at least an hour walking the dog; but I have 2 days without DS and 2 mornings without him. Apart from my dailies, I don't want to spend the weekends doing housework.

I'm trying to limit my time on here and am very sorry to ready I don't read previous posts much so apologies there to anyone who needs support. I get VERY easily distracted and find it hard to knuckle down and get on with a job.

Any ideas? I can feel I'm slipping; I'm trying to stay with it but other things are taking over again..

    Hi MUMOF 2,

I know what you mean about easily distracted. I too am a suffer!.

I tell myself that if i do 1 hour flying and 1 hour study, i can get 1/2 hour to do what i want. I also only log on in the morning for the list and then log off verrrrrrrrrry quickly.

And some days i do get a star ( it has taken from before Xmas to achieve this) and on some days it goes "t!ts up" and i dont get anything done!.
On those days, i think "carp",...................... and try again the next day!.

    Love H xxx

not going to happen for me either, i am in procrastination mode. DD1&2's bedroom is gutted..completley spotless it is.. everything else went t!ts up. the electritian arrived at 3pm and is now drilling holes in my ceeling (not impressed) something to do with wiring being dodgy.

made kids dinner (means opened a tin of soup)
gossped on msn for like an hr and now i feel bad because my house is like a pig sty again

oh well an hrs cleaning before the kids go to bed i think.

Toots honey, can you take me off the sick list now please.. I have my energy back and it looks like I have shifted this darn bug thing finally. I am going to try and get back into "flying" the zones again as I am sick of looking at the mess, and being the only one that clears it up I might as well get on with it..lol

    Thank you :)

I have sort of settled into one week of flying and one week of doing just the bare minimum and doing other things.

I don't worry about stars or lists anymore really and just do what I know needs doing.

    Dailies well daily
hoovering upstairs once a week and downstairs twice a week
    keeping sinks clean
    Changing beds

wiping/dusting/sorting and all the other stuff on my flying week if I can HTH

Been busy today with getting DS1 birthday presents/ortho/library/cubs.

Builder is taking over most of the house at the moment so flying is hard.

Going to have a quick hoover around after dinner before cub collection.

Piggers hope your hospital appoinment(s) went ok today

Thanks Dusty and others - you've been very helpful. I think I set myself up to fail by trying to do too much - I know I say I won't aim for stars, but deep down I think maybe!!! I'll just do what I can when I can.

It doesn't help though on days like today when I've vacuumed right through and DH comes through the house in his wellies goes upstairs and leaves mud everywhere . I was . Why don't men think?
