Afternoon all
Wednesday and Thursday lists both done (I did one yesterday and the other today).
Two loads of washing out on the line, not sunny today but there's a (nasty little) breeze so it's blowing well and should dry.
Just got building/contents renewal and after I got over the shock I got a comparative quote and rung them up and they've knocked off £100. Result!

rachel - I'd complain if I were you. It's none of the receptionists business what's wrong with you, and you can stipulate whether it is urgent, a long-term appointment or needs to be seen within days/a week.

Complain to the practice manager. There should be an email address on the practice website, or a phone number.I dont think i will complain just yet i think i might just be being over sensitive.
i have pulled the kids room apart so am about to go finnish it..after this coffee
Rachel - please complain. You aren't being oversensitive at all.
I am a practice manager and I would be horrified that a receptionist had spoken to you in this way, I have also been a recpetionist and I would never ever dream of speaking to someone like that but unfortunately there are a few 'jobsworths' who think they can. They are also the ones known as 'Doctors Rottweilers'
Receptionists aren't supposed to ask you what's wrong, it's none of their business, they aren't qualified to diagnose whether something is serious or not and God help any of mine that try to ask.
Ring back, ask for an appointment, it's urgent and none of their business why you want one. Any trouble just ask for the manager, It's what they are paid for.
Off to post a list now - freezer is being defrosted as I type, Jack is sleeping so a whip round the living room methinks.
