helen - you are dong scarily well!
I was full of good intentions but DS1 gave me his horrid cold which started Tuesday and I am busy doing nothing much because I ache. Too ill to be outside, but the wood pile is neat anyway because I stacked it when it was delivered. The garage is scary - but is also DHs problem.
I will sort through the upstairs hall bookcase and identify items for removal.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
Morning all
Hex hope you feel better soon.
Tiler and builder here today so can't get around much of the house.
Plan
Sort some bamboo canes for a freegler
Sort the knex to ebay
Sort the wooden drawer unit on my desk
It is lovely and sunny here with the bluest of blue skiesThe birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
1st Paper Monday
done
2nd Cotton Tuesday
Clothes - anybody's for charity/rehoming or ebay but not creating piles!
If it has not been worn in a year is it ever likely to be?
Do you have summer/spring clothes stashed away which you could sort out?
Are some of your winter clothes really past their best?
Are there items not being worn because they are waiting to be mended/defuzzed? If so get that done this evening and start wearing them
Anything that needs drycleaning take to the cleaners.
Clothes which cannot be reworn can be bagged and labelled as rags and placed in the supermarket clothing banks or given to charity shops - they still get cash from the rag man.
3rd Leather Wednesday
Handbag sorting/putting away/rehoming
including camping stuff/sleeping bags/sporting equipment
shoes/boots - do any need reheeling/polishing/waterproofing
Shoe banks for recycling are in lots of supermarket carparks
Sort through belts and accessories.
Have you filled another bag for the charity shop yet?
4th Linen Thursday
Linen and airing cupboards
Towels give them a good sort; Vets often want old towels
Do not keep stuff just in case.
Sort all your bedding, do you need that many spare sets
Piles of spare nets and curtains again do you use them?
Cushions - any lumpy horrid ones to get rid of?
Napkins and Tablecloths you never use.
Again recycle/charity shop/rehome/sell but do not stash.
5th Wood Friday
Can include toys
Sorting sheds
Tidying or restocking your woodstore
DIY jobs
Sorting cupboards/drawers
Desk drawer sort out
6th Iron Saturday
Cleaning out the car removing all the clutter from the boot and side pockets
Sorting your heavy metal records
Sorting your baking tins/cast iron pans
Golf irons - yes that's on my list
Cutlery drawers and all those utensils you never use
Are all the bikes ready for spring, now could be a good time to sell any which are nolonger used.
Garden tools/lawnmowers again get them ready for spring and any you do not use ebay/freecycle or recycle at the metal part of your local dump
7th Day of rest! Almost lets pamper Sunday
Sort out your toiletries/make up bag and enjoy a bath decluttering all those bath bombs/face packs/trail samples/candle lit of course!
Throw away stuff which has been open for a good while, gooey mascara and nail polish.
Not long now until you can start using the fake tan and need the sunscreen so your final declutter is a good exfoliate.

Hex - hope you feel better soon
I've managed to declutter a cooked breakfast made by DH, some money spent on food and now I'm off to declutter a talk with DS teacher as I've been asked to go in and see her - OMG - dreading it, when I asked him what he'd done he said "been good" so I've no idea what its about
Have also taken 2 bags of blankets, towels etc to Vets

I have a week off at the end of March so will do the anniversary de-clutter then..............going to be ruthless including the attic. My rule of thumb is "not used/looked at/forgotten about for over 6 months" it goes........................Oh is not quite the same, ok very opposite!!!! But if I can sneak it out when his back is turned I may just succeed...............:rotfl:
1 stepIf you wait for perfect conditions, nothing would ever get done! :T
I'm not short - I'm condensed awesome!0 -
Not got very far at all today - managed to put all the canes into a pile in the garden to decide which to keep and which to dispose of but it is too cold to be bothered to do it now - tomorrow I will.
Going to do a HH sort of the little wooden unit on my desk and maybe sort the knex this evening.
I wonder if we are all running out of steam? The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Tomorrow I'm spending the day doing washing and ironing and putting it all away as thats the biggest problem - I never get on top of it and I only have tomorrow to do it as I start work on Sunday so I need to be ahead of myself so that come Monday all the school uniforms and work clothes are done and dusted - I managed to get it all clear for the New Years Eve challenge but I've let it build up again so once its done [again] then I have to keep on top of it

evening all
dusty you could be right that we are running out of steam - but you have to remember there was a serious amount of decluttering done at the beginning of the week - paper and cotton were heavy days!
I think if anyone carries on and does it again it will be easier next week for the first couple of days so you can concentrate on the things you didnt do this week.
I have almost filled my paper bin - i have been at it on and off all week!!!
next week I might just manage to strike some of the paper things off my list - fingers crossed
today i was out a good bit so have only dealt with the curtains but its something off my list so I am not complaining!
keep up the excellent work everyone
toots xx
Peace will be mine
could do better - must try harder
Live each day as if its your last
