I don't know if this will be of help to anyone, but a few months ago I got fed up of comps, so virtually stopped doing them - then I missed the postman knocking with parcels, so started again.
This was how I caught up. I started by doing the comps via the end date view and tried to keep a couple of days ahead each day. At the end of the daily session of these, I also changed to the New Topic View and did all the comps for the day I was on. It took me a few weeks to catch up, but gradually got a lot easier, as I was picking up comps with early ending date as I went along. Now I only need to keep up with the New Topic View.

I have read a lot on here of people having problems with the whats on tv comps. I have been using Firefox and have found that when logging in if the save login details are left unticked I no longer have any problems entering any of the comps. This may be the same when using internet explorer but I haven't tried that yet as I don't want to delete all my IE cookies. Hope this may help anyone having problems with whats on tv comps.

  • Hi Everyone,

I started comping at the start of February and have a mobile which I use almost exclusively for this. I got a phone call today on the mobile from a company called "fresh start". The guy on the phone said that someone has applied for a loan in my name. They had my correct address so I guess it's fairly likely someone got my details from a comp entry form.

I just wondered if anyone else had any similar experiences? It really wouldn't be too difficult for an unscrupulous person to set up a bogus competition and then just harvest peoples details for ID theft.

I have not come across this before myself, however i use a dedicated comping mobile like you, dedicated comping e mail, alter my postal address slightly for all comp entries (I know banks etc wont accept this address), use a different D.O.B and only give info that is easily obtainable elsewhere / in public domain.

But to be honest, i only enter from sites that have been established for some time, those i trust and then miss those that look too good to be true. Also dont enter from OP where only e mail address is given and no other links etc. It also helps if its a regular poster on the forum as you get to know how people find comps etc.

Hope you get your problem sorted.
