Hi All,
I've recently become worried about the way to fill in addresses in comps. These days at least half the comps tend to ask for the house name or number and then, in a separate box, the first line of your address. I've been filling these in like this:
House Name or Number: 29
First Line of Address: Acacia Road
My worry is to my mind the first line of my address is: 29 Acacia Road (because when I write on envelopes my house number does not go on a separate line) but if I do that on these forms I'm repeating the house number and a computer might then print my address as 2929 Acacia Road which would really confuse the postie.
How do the rest of you fill these in? Am I worrying about nothing?Wins 2011 so far: £50 Toy Voucher, Paul Blu Ray
Wins 2010: 10 (total value £3800ish)
Wins 2009: 10 (total value £3200)
TWBM in 2011: ITV win, IPAD, PS3, 42"+ TV0 -
I just put door number in house number
then street name, I do do not put house number again in street name, generally they check via postcode so the street name is to double check xx#JusticeForGrenfell0 -
Yes, I don't have a problem if it says House Number and then Street Name, but many now say House Number and then First Line of Address which is different. This one is an example.Wins 2011 so far: £50 Toy Voucher, Paul Blu Ray

if house number is seperate i wouldn't add it with first line of address as u already have entered it xxxx#JusticeForGrenfell0

Hello all!
I'm very new here, only been comping for about 2 months and am waiting on my first win
Quick question about dates of birth. I see them asked for in a lot of comp forms. Now I can understand if the prize is age restricted - A DVD, CD, booze, whatever. It just seems that quite a few I can't see any reason for them to ask. Am I missing something?
I'd rather give out as little personal info as possible, whilst still being eligible for the prize!

When I first started entering competitions, I always used to put my correct date of birth, but after reading several suggestions on here, I now tend to do what a lot of people on here have suggested and that is to 'accidentally' make a mistake with one of the digits. If ever it was picked up, I would just say it was a typo. I think that with a lot of the forms, you cannot submit if you do not put something in.0

I could of sworn I saw a competition in regular competitions that was to win some money just for sending off your takeaway menus to them.
I've done a search and I can't find the bloody thing:rotfl:
I knew I was going mad.0 -
There has been a comp like that, someone posted in IWIWIW that they won on it.Luck is believing you’re lucky – Tennessee Williams

I do the same. I hate the thought, especially on some of the beauty type comps that they might disregard me because I'm too old to appreciate the prize. I knock a few years off (53 becomes 73), again, it's a typo if they ask.Luck is believing you’re lucky – Tennessee Williams
