  • Offer at 5% under accepted. Saves paying the mortgage for ages waiting for a better offer and I'm not sure that there is that much likelihood of a higher offer - you know what they say about a bird in the hand!

    Grrrr!

I'm cross - just got my Amex bill and they've charged me £20 as a "membership fee" - I did read this in the new terms and conditions they sent out a while back but it doesn't make me any happier to have been charged it.

Might phone them up and complain - if I had the flat money already I might be able to phone them up and complain and close the card and pay it off and perhaps get the fee refunded but I don't so I can't...

Congratulations on having an accepted offer! I hope it goes through quickly which you could insist on as they are getting a good deal.

I always hate being charged for things like account fees and cash point withdrawal fees. I try hard to avoid paying anything like that but I think that will get harder and harder.

Can you pay anything off any of those totals?

  • Hmmm.

Getting tempted to buy something to take advantage of the Google Checkout offer where if you buy £30 somewhere, you get £10 off!

Can't think what I actually NEED, or even of any presents I need to buy.

Found a cool photo display frame on ebuyer which displays pictures on a slideshow from a memory chip from a camera that you can plug into it. That's quite cool but a little over £30 inc. delivery.

I've got £220 burning a hole in my current account from my ebay sales, but I've got some more ebay stuff still to sell.

I can't decide whether to pay off a bit more of my Lloyds credit card now, or whether to wait a little bit and pay it off closer to when I get paid (next week actually, so not that long)...

I could pay off £150 and take the debt total down to £12,750 - a vaguely psychological boost?!?...

Had an email from estate agent that the buyers have appointed a solicitor so now my solicitor is (hopefully) talking to their solicitor...

You never know with these things, whether the deal with fall through or whether it will just go swimmingly!

Also, the estate agent said that the buyers might be interested in my sofas! I've had a look on ebay and, although leather sofas actually sell quite well, it'll be much easier for me to sell them to the buyers of the flat (they won't have to be moved!)

Fingers well and truly crossed and touching wood as I type (which is making it difficult, obviously!)
