Hi everyone, didn't have a chance to log on this weekend - did I miss much?

I am happy to annouce my first payment of £574.73 went out to Payplan today. It should have been a £1000 but bl**dy AMEX had to sell the debt to RMA, who insisted that my debt with them was a special type of debt that couldn't be covered by a DMP. Sounded like a load of bull but Payplan bought it, so now I have to make 4 large payments to RMA - then my debt with them (/AMEX - who knows, who cares?) will be cleared for good! Yeah!!

Anyway, how long does it take between your creditors being contacted by Payplan/CCCS with a Financial Statement and the acceptances rolling in? I do hope all my creditors cooperate. Wish me luck.

  • Getting nervous as haven't heard back that the boiler has been installed or how much it will cost...especially as I'm not sure where the money will come from to pay for the work until I get paid this month (10 days time...)

  • Looks like I might have to phone up one of the estate agents that valued my flat and set them to work. I don't have any holiday left for this year that I haven't already got plans for so, in essence, I don't have the time to sell my flat myself.

Oh well, will have to swallow the 1.5% (or whatever I can negotiate) fees...

Any tips to look out for in their terms & conditions?

  • Managed to negotiate 1% - will need to check over paperwork when they have sent it - with estate agents of choice.

  • OK, so flat is on the market and there have been two viewings already. Great!

Now, let's see if anything more exciting than a viewing happens...

  • Good article on the Motley Fool:

    Here's a good question:

How much money is enough? When do you stop?

  • Right,

So it appears that my letting agents haven't actually sorted the boiler yet and it now won't be done until the 1st Mey!!! I'm really cross - the flat could have been bought by now and I thought it had been done and was expecting the bill any time now.

I've told them to sod it now, as it's too late. I will write them a stroppy letter I think asking for two month's worth of management fees back as they haven't been doing their job properly. Grrrrrrr.

    I'm grumpy now.
