  • Having struggled to maintain my debts for a year or so, my marriage failed which caused a lot of added stress and then to loss of earnings due to re-location. When I approached LTSB with my financial problems before they were even aware of any, I was completely ignored. I sent two letters by recorded mail to my personal manager and then branch manager and received nothing back.

It was then that I decided to look at other solutions to my financial problems. Remember, this is a failed bank - owned mostly by you and I the tax payer (even though we didn't get a say in whether we wanted to invest or not). A private company that runs a business thus [STRIKE]would[/STRIKE] should have gone to the wall long ago.

I know others here share similar stories and maybe even feel that it's morally wrong in taking this course of action - like I once did. Not any more. Banks are scum - who are all well and good if things are running smoothly but couldn't care less if you get into difficulty.

They only began to take my financial problems seriously once I stopped paying them. Too late for friendly chit-chat now - they're not getting another penny of mine.

Jammin - get off your moral high horse and stop judging people whose circumstances you know nothing about.

Niddy & 10past6 - you should have 'Buy me a Beer' icons (which I've seen on other forums) which allow the people you are helping the opportunity to show our appreciation for the unrelenting work that you (and others here) are doing.

This forum has given me back my hope and self-esteem when both were flying out of the window heading south, and seeing others sort out similar issues is extremely satisfying.

    Keep smiling all

If the egg agreement is unenforceable then no, cease payments. The case in June may not change anything, however the fact remains they still still need the original signed agreement before they can enforce anything.... :D

    Morning Nid,

    Thanks for the advice.

Have you or anyone else had dealing with CCA's for Egg Loans or Great Universal? These are my other creditors, so far neither have sent me a copy of my CCA. Cannot remember signing a CCA for Great Universal however I think that the agreement was written on the catelogue.

    Thanks

Sorry, who was I judging? I believe I asked a question, which was answered.

Prior to that I asked for clarity of a post, which appeared to be a reply to a PM. For this I was jumped on. That's fine though.

Clearly this is a sensitive thread with very sensitive posters.

    Back to topic..

You need to wait and see what they come back with, chances are the egg loan may well be enforceable - they usually are - as for the catalogue, less likely they will have a copy. BUT you cannot compare things so wait and see what they send you ok? :p

Just had another phone call off Barclaycard.

That's 2 in the space of 18 hours, both times I've told them I don't wish to discuss anything with them over the phone and to send anything in writing.

The annoying thing is I've CCA'd them with 2 separate accounts but they haven't even heard anything back from one of them despite stopping payments with the final letter due to be sent next Monday.

Next time they phone just say, "Hang on, I'll get him/her for you..." and just leave the phone on the side until they hang up.

Clarity re the PM situation was posted, go back and check, the evidence is clearly visable, you were "jumped on" as you put it for using the term "debt dodger's"
Click here for Martins (MSE) advice on who to contact with Debt Issues - YOU HAVE NO REASON TO USE A FEE PAYING DEBT MANAGEMENT COMPANY- THEY CANNOT DO ANYMORE FOR YOU THAN THOSE LISTED IN MY LINK ABOVE.

All information given by myself is offered informally and without prejudice - if in doubt seek help from a qualified and insured professional

    Guys,

Please do not trash this thread with silly arguments - if you do i'll close it - simple.

This is not what we're about - we all stick together, it stops here and now or that is it - you're on your own. I'll just stop coming on.

Can I ask the last few posters to go in and erase the posts? Lets get rid of some of the !!!!!!? Yea?
