  • Thanks for your support guys. I'm feeling really sorry for myself at the moment. Have had my leg in plaster since Sunday and it's starting to pull me down, no money + limited mobility = unhappy bunny!!!

  • I fell down and broke my ankle. It looks as if I'm going to be in plaster for at least 4 weeks possibly 8 weeks. I'm finding it hard because I find it hard to keep still so it's drivibng me mad.

I still haven't paid the 2 cheques in from Music magpie but I have made a payment to Shapely which brings my balance down to £60. I think I may have to extend my deadline by one week as I'm finding it hard to get it paid off by Monday.

  • Have got a day off work today and have used it very constructively. Have been out and done a mystery shop which will get me £15 and also paid £6 off shapely so that's taken the balance down to £54. I am determined to pay off the £54 on Monday and close the account. That will be another debt crossed off :)

    Hi there
I have read your story from start to finish today, whilst making jam! Very MSE of me. could you do something like that to stretch the budget? Or home baking? Do you have any land that you could grow veggies on this year? People often offer free seeds on freecycle and freegle, or even spare plants, so there doesn't have to be an outlay!

I am sure you ahve done this, but is all your money working hard for you? Ie all of your insurances, and utilities are with the cheapest providers. Being loyal to a company doesn't pay any more, if it ever did.

Have you tried doing any surveys online? Or playing free bingo for vouchers?

    good luck

  • Thanks Chev I'll look into your swuggestions.

The plaster has been taken off and I've been given a robocop boot. It makes it easier for me to bath but I'm not being compliant and keep taking the boot off, hence the foot isn't getting any better! I've been out shopping this morning and have come home, taken the boot off and the ankle is up like a baloon :(

I have however paid off Shapely. I just sent a massive £54 payment to them along with an e-mail asking them to close the account :)

  • p.s Have decided to concentrate on SRJ Debt Recoveries as my next 'to be paid off' Balance was £141.31 but I've just made a £20 payment taking the balance down to £121.31. I've also set myself a 'to be paid off date' of 15.03.11.
