When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important:D:D

Morning all

Today I am a very happy puppy - I signed the lease on my new house and I've been very brave and started a new diary!!!!! The house is awesome but the expense of two houses for a bit will more than smart a bit!!

I hope you're all good and fine and well, hugs to anyone who needs them - I'm not often up first so obviously very excited to be starting the thread - I hope you all enjoy your weekend whatever you're up to

Mogchops good luck today with the invasion of the short party people!!
:) CATMIAOW - this is your DEBT FREE DAY isnt it ???? WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO :)

My small things today

Pick up DD from her chums and take her out to see the new house
Pick up brother on the way - he's working at my chums house so I'm giving him a lift to save the chap there coming out and getting him
Go to neighbouring town and see what the charity shops have
Walk the doggie at the beach - take camera - need to update blog later
Update online storecupboard - I love this!!
Check banks - and look at moving some cash around
Do some crochet for my blanket
Update my budget and make sure I can juggle things
Phone Mum later when i've spoken to the folk about the house things they want to leave and we might buy
Meals from store cupboard
Have a shower and use up some 'free soap' stuff and smell lovely
Wrap up and the weather is a tad snowy here still
Perhaps do a bit of hokey cokey
We need to start to make some extra money so I'm madly finding things aroudn the hosue we can ebay
Do the same in the greenhouse with plants etc and sow some things to sell on ebay later

Not sure what else today -
Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:

    Hi everyone

Thanks for starting the thread Fay. Good luck with all the house stuff. So exciting!

MillyS - where are these posh smilies you speak of???

I've got a bit of a busy weekend going on here. Need to:
    - batch cook another 6 portioner so I can relax mid-week evenings
    - have a mini-pamper sesh instead of going to a beautician - no eyebrow threading, manicures or pedicures for me! Wow, just spent about half an hour on youtube watching manicure/pedicure tutorials! Nails are actually looking quite good now.
    - decide whether to keep trying to sell my other old phone on amazon or whether to swap for piggy points/Amazon vouchers for bday pressies ?!?
    - MiL2B is going to buy my old laptop!:T (I'm sharing one with OH for now)
    - heating off all day
    - store cupboard breakfast and lunch. Having tea at OH's parents.
    - washing sheets & towels at OH's parents and hopefully hanging them outside to dry
    - looking for supplies for wedding invites now we've finally decided what to do
    - started a spending diary (thanks for the link Fay!) but then realised I hadn't spent for a while so couldn't update it:A Will have a play around later.
    - put some coins in the jar from OH's pockets :p
    - will do the washing up pronto - think the water will still be hot from last night so won't need to put immersion tank back on All done. That's better.
    - some calls using free mins
    - take out the rubbish/recycling
    - feed the fish
    - catch up with a series I'm watching online

    Phew! Best get started!
  • Good morning everyone, hope you all have lovely weekends!

    For me today:
    • Dust and hoover room
    • Ironing
    • Study hard
    • Probably a LSD as I will probably cave in and buy some chocolate to give me energy for study!
    • Meals from cupboards
    • Scratchies
    • Check banking and quidco
    • Resist the urge to go out tonight with flatmates - they are trying to persuade me!
Very pleased that I'm posting on here everyday - think it helps to keep me on the straight and narrow!
