I've always been quite frugal but lately I'm getting really into OS.
I've got a slow cooker and I have started batch cooking. I am now
thinking of getting a breadmaker and baking all our bread.
I do bake occasionally.
I love going about on the bus and going to charity shops.
I love getting good books out of the library and borrowing magazines from the library instead of buying them.
I take pleasure from the simple things in life.
I feel guilty about spending on things that are not essential.
I think I am turning oldstyle.

Evening everybody...hope that you have had a good day.
DD4 rang this morning to invite OH and I out to breakfast....was very nice and she let us both drive her new car....when I get a new car I want it all for ME, so let nobody drive it until I've settled in with it....she obviously takes after a more generous person than me.
Didn't do very much this afternoon as I had to get ready to watch the rugby from Twickenham....sorry England but it was a great match.
Bro on earlier to say that his secretary had printed his itinerary for his trip to the states and grumble that the booking for his Dublin flight when he arrives in Heathrow has been made from Gatwick....he doesn't do internet so asked me to book him a flight from Gatwick....as it was going to cost €130 I have left it until I have a look at the printout to-morrow...see no reason for him to spend that extra unless he has to, although I agree with him that Heathrow to Gatwick is not really a practical move....will try to sort to-morrow.
NPM....I would go for the Sorrento too, which is a big vote from me as I don't usually fancy those kind of things...love the dress too.
Peppers stuffed with herbs and cheese for us this evening for dinner, very nice.
Halight....belated congratulations on your 30th birthday....even if it is such a huge age!
Csarina....would love to do patchwork/quilting, but I fear that I don't have the patience to apply the care necessary to do a good job. Find knitting and crochet much easier to cope with, have been knitting now for about 60 years so can almost do it in my sleep. Have just been invited to join a knitting group so will pay my first visit on Monday am, you never know I might find out something new.
Cats are roaming round the house as if they smell mice....haven't seen or heard anything for a long time, now that I leave the cats in at night I thought we should be safe, they are probably just checking.
Butterflybrain....glad that little one is improving, DD4 had 2 bronchiolitis attacks at 21 and 23 months, was in hospital the second time, on a ventilator for a few days, when she came home I decided to try her on goats milk (soy etc not easy to get then) and she improved greatly but finds that even now at almost 29 she needs to watch her intake of cheese and other milk products.
Nice to see that you are well Haribo, congratulations on the job, try to come and see us the odd time as we do miss you.
Sunnygirl....sorry to hear that your SIL has had such a rotten couple of years...she should try her anti-ds again, they can help one put one foot in front of the other until it becomes normal.
Taplady, sorry to hear that OH is still suffering, hope that he is better soon.
Hugs to all I have missed, enjoy the rest of the weekend
