Morning Chums ,a little brighter here at the moment but clouds are on the horizon.Looking out of the window ( Now my computer room has been changed around I have a great view from the window, not very condusive for working on my essays though as I love to window-gaze) I can see across the River Medway and it looks quite grey and threatening looking. Basil has been for his breakfast and keeps carrying bits back to Mrs Basil in the tree at the bottom of the garden. She has been up once but is not as bold as her OH.After his breakfast he sits and preens and cleans his feathers, and is quite a jolly old chap whistling while he cleans ,rather like a chap cleaning his car

I hope if his OH has some babies he will bring them up to show me
Being in an upstairs back room it gives one a totally different perspective of the garden.
I have to take my DGS to his fishing today and then pick him up this evening ,or before depending on the weather. My isis-in-law from Faversham said she would pop up this afternoon as welll so its going to be a busy day.I have managed to get a couple of halogen heaters from my DD so that will keep me going until Monday afternoon when the plumber comes to fix the boiler.
Well I hope everyone has a good day and <<hugs>> to those who feel down or blue
Cheers JackieO xx0 -
Morning all,
Bright day here :T, will try and get as much washing done today as possible, we are meant to get battered by a storm all day tomorrow too.
OH has gone to the car boot sale and dd is still in bed, so its just me and a pot of tea at the moment
, first wash of the day is on.
Today OH is going to start to lay the laminate in dd's room, it might take him two days, so we will have to move her into the little room for tonight, I shall be putting a 2nd coat on the kitchen.
I need to nip to the shop for fruit and veg, and sugar, dinner tonight will be chili I think, which is nice and easy after a days painting.
I was thinking the other day, we seem to have lost a lot of the 'old' posters, please come back, we need you to keep us on the straight and narrow
Sistercas Happy Birthday to your OH, that cake sounds Luverly
Have good days all xx0 -

Morning :hello:
Redruby, one of the chicks has a little brown-red patch of feathers on her head so I've named her after you
One of them is going to be called Cassie (after Sistercas) but I haven't decided which one yet.
Been up since 5am so most things are done :j Just need to wash the piggy towels.
We cleared out the shed yesterday, chucked out loads of things the kids wanted to keep (so they've been saying for about 4 years but they haven't even looked at them yet - bike bits, etc). One half is going to be a new chicken house, the other half will be for normal shed stuff. We kept some shelf units when we took the wall units down in the kitchen, they'll be turned into nesting boxes. They're similar to THIS but with square edges, not curved.
I'm off to treat my feet

Having some tea and a quick look on here before dashing out to a catalogue sale to see if there is a bargain or two I can wear while losing weight.
nmic
I have not dared step on scales yet but sounds as if our goal is similar- we seem to be using similar methods too.
DD comes home this afternoon and we are booked for a special meal to celebrate her 21st.
Kitchen ceiling only needs an hour on it today so might manage to make dd(16) and her friend brekkie later.
Hugs to all while gulping tea and getting dressed."This site is addictive!"

Hester - am too expecting bad weather tomorrow - hope not to have to go out in in.
Hart - you gotta love teenagers :rotfl:
Sistercass - Happy Birthday Mr Cass - I am liking the sound of that cake!
Waiting for DD to get ready then we are off to Lakeside in a min to get her an outfit for her interview day - I am fully expecting some strops too Hart
Going to head for Primark first as I really don't want to spend a lot on something she won't get much wear out of.
I will be treating myself to Starbucks Mocha at least once:T but thats about it. Do need to get MIL a birthday card - does take me sometime as I really do not want to get her a slushy one iykwim.
Need to pop into mechanics whilst there so I might convince myself this is a work trip and therefore I will be entitled to spend the afternoon on the sofa
Pork kebabs with rice for tea tonight, nothing else OS planned at this point
Have a great Saturday.x

Morning all.................((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))if you need one.
Yesterday at the quilt show was quite productive. I ran into several old friends from the quilt group I used to be in, they have asked me to go back, so I will be having 2 quilting days for most of the year. I also made contact with my favourite sewing machine man, who incedentally did me a really good deal on a table for my machine.......
The first person I saw was a dealer from Rugby, who greeted me with ' what are you doing here, its a long way to come for a quilt show' I explained that we had moved just 3 weeks ago. She said 'I see you have your priorites right then'!!
I purchased a few things including something I have been trying to get for ages. I little vee shaped thing which takes the plastic tacks out of a quilt when its finished, I have two quilts with them still in. I managed to cut into a quilt when I was trying to get the tacks out,,,,,,hence me not cutting any more out.
We had very heavy rain yesterday and again this morning, at least it was now snow. Parts of Scotland still have hugh problems with power supplies.
Load of washing in, we will be off to the library shortly to see what they have.
I think supper will be mushroom omelettes, I need to root in the freezer for fruit for a crumble. Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0
