Hi there! This is the Daily Thread for Saturday 27th February. It is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Dailys' live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good.
Morning OS lovelies, wave.gif

Found this bargain on Yankee Candles HERE.. I ordered mine and it arrived within 24hrs and was very well packaged up too. I also went through a cashback site so even better value!
Still no working shower and the Mira engineer has up til Tuesday afternoon to contact us and make an appt. apparently. This is despite us being marked as high priority! Still, patience is a virtue they say...
HShungry.gifBrunch will be bacon sandwiches, yum.gifand dinner will be something with mince - I haven't quite decided yet. Last night we had our tuna quiche but were still hungry later so had a portion of spare ribs from the local Chinese between us. Naughty but nice!
I hope everyones weekend starts well and that anyone feeling poorly head%20cold.gif feels better soon. With love, light and warm gentleHShuggies.giffor all.

Morning everyone. Hugs and waves to everyone who reads this (and need them)
I'm not usually awake at this time of a Saturday morning, but I woke up at 4.30am to have some water and couldn't drift off. I've decided to stay up and get on with sorting the house out, so that I can have a well-deserved nap this afternoon, while DH is is battling mutants and aliens on the PS.
I hope that everyone has a good day.

    Morning.

Lazy saturday hopefully. Cooked breakfast and then possibly a trip to the city. Football results, evening TV, that kind of stuff.
Need to clean the hens out for sure as one chore today. Had a good evening last night with friends at their home eating curry and eating chocolates.
found a box of Dairy box in ASDA for £2, that is cheap! I was just thinking that Dairy Box, Milk Tray, and All Gold are all made by Nestle now, I guess that goes for all those tins at Christmas too...... Is Thorntons next?

Well, have a good day everyone.

    Morning all

Love and hugs to those who are sad or poorly.

Wet again this morning. OH gone into work and I woke at the same time, so am now up at stupid early o'clock on a Saturday morning, grrrr.....Well at least it's given me some time on here in the peace and quiet as both DS1 and DS2 are still sleeping.

Haven't been posting as have had a couple of really busy days but productive. All housework done and our bed changed, just have boys beds to do, 2 loads that are washed that need drying. Then will be able to spend the morning baking, will be making HM treats for pack-ups, haven't decided exactly what yet.

Had an online shop delivered yesterday was pleased with the items sent, spent more than I wanted to but several things I needed were on offer so spent a bit more to save later, it has also stocked up the freezer.

OH and I are off out tonight for a meal with friends not very OS but we don't go out on our own very often so will be nice, boys going to MIL and FIL's for the night. Have a busy day tomorrow so have better not over indulge tonight!!

Went to the scales on Thursday and have lost another 2lb yippee, have been chasing 1lb for 3 weeks to bring my total weight loss to 3 stone, so have now lost 3 stone 1lb, feel like there is now light at the end of the tunnel, it's in the distance but nevertheless it's there! Have set an interim target of trying to lose a 1 stone in 12 weeks and the last weighing day is the Thursday before Good Friday, at the moment I've lost 5lb towards this stone and I get the feeling I may have to fight for every 1lb, it is going to be difficult but I'm going to give it my best shot. I have a vague idea of what weight I want to be but want to be able to maintain it so am not going to try to get to low.

Enough of my ramblings... hope you all have a good weekend.

Keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

I've not been around, so hugs, congratulations & commiserations to all for everything I've missed.
What a busy week, what little spare time I have had has been taken up with trying to make Stargazy Hens, hopefully I'll catch up tomorrow as today I'm going to collect some bags of books from hubby's place of work.
Tomorrows weather forcast is dire, so it will be a day for battening down the hatches & keeping dry.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

    Good morning everyone :D.

I didnt get a chance to post yesterday. I had got up with a bit of a dull headache but as me being me took some pills and got on with running around but when I got back from cleaning for my lovely couple I felt totaly wiped out so had a nap on the sofa (glad my OH finishes work early on a Fri & he picks up DS from school), I must have needed it as I was fine after.

I was going to post when I got home from other job but DD had a 15yr old tantrum slamming doors and thumping off to her room  cause her internet gets cut off at 10pm and she hadnt finished doing her school work (she should do that 1st, then talk to her friends) she will have to do it today.

Up this morning happy and bright (well as bright as I can be with only 1 coffee :rotfl:).

We have a wkend cleaner at last at work, he (yes he) came in for a trial last night and was very good. I saw 3 over the week and Richard seemed the better of them, I think he will be the most reliable as that is what my boss wants more than anything :)

Going to make some more bread today:) as it went very well last week also make a banana cake :)as the banana's in the bowl are turning and my 2 wont eat them :(

Hope to catch up with everything and everyone later :)

Kind wishes and hugs to everyone :)

    Morning All

Another busy day today - five more MS jobs to do. Just going to do the same as yesterday and throw the little ones in the back of the car ans DH will be chief navigator while I go in and get the jobs done - most only take 10 minutes but I have one today which will take a little longer but the kids will have their DS/PSPs so that keeps them fairly quiet!

No jobs tomorrow (:j) so I intend to do some batch cooking/baking to do us during the week and catch up on the housework.

Have to take DSa to work this morning as he's doing 1/2 day overtime and he might need picked up at 12 in which case I'll get my shopping done this morning and tidy round then collect him and then go off and get the work done.

Hope everyone had a good day

Diva - I love Yankee Candles...I will try to just look not buy anything! :rotfl:

For the past 2 weeks, even whilst ill, I have woken up between 7.30 and 8am. Very bizarre, considering for work I wake up at 7am! It's drizzly rain here at moment but sky looks like it may brighten up. I got up to make a coffee then pop back to bed with my book, but there was a heron in the dock outside so I stayed up to watch him so thought I'd post at same time.

I'm going out properly today :D I'm meeting the girls for a late lunch, and planning on popping to library and parents on the way there. So that means for first time in a week I'll put some make-up on, straighten my hair and wear actual clothes (not just pjs or jogging bottoms!).

Not much OS planned for today other than washing up. I have HM curry in the freezer so was thinking of having that for tea.

    Have a great day all
