Food4cats raw pet mince - alternative supplier?

Also tesco's Offal range is quite cheap, I get some when I do my online shopping. It's much easier to sort into portion sizes and freeze too. Darlings is obviously going to be dearer then food4cats anyway because it's food that we can eat too, food4cats wasn't.
20kg gosh, I'll have to get another freezer.0 -
I've gone straight in at the deep end and ordered 22kgs to be delivered this Friday! In the meantime I got some prizechoice from a pet shop round the corner (89p for 400g block) and am adding organs etc to it.
I'm still looking at making my own but the Darlings order will tide me over for a bit whilst we sort out what we're doing. I was talking to my OH about it last night (he was a butcher in a former life) - I then found him looking at butchers blocks, mincers and grinders etc on Ebay!I think he's going to set up in the garage.....

personally as my two have turned up their nose at minced raw before I plan to buy offal from the butchers, cut into pieces, separate into freezer bags & freeze - taking out 1 bag at time & supplementing with Boozita & dried.0

Is the Boozita for you? Hic
Actually I think that is a great food plan ( including the booze :rotfl:)0 -
Thanks for the replies
....OK, enough rambling. I'd still like to hear from anyone that has experience of feeding cats' the Landywoods minces. I'm fine for a couple of months, as I paced an order with Food4cats recently, so there's no rush for a supplier. So, if anyone else is going to try Landywoods for the first time, please let me know how you get on.
I tried without success to place an order with Landywoods. I first contacted them to get further information about products and delivery but had to repeatedly chase them and resend 'unreceived' emails. When I finally complained about the length of time it was taking for them to reply an irate woman (Janet Mayer) finally replied - not with an apology, or even answers to my questions, but a nitpicking rant about emails they had/had not received and because of the negative comments I made about the extraordinary length of time it was all taking (about two months), she said she would 'refrain from answering' any of my questions!! I then used Food4Dogs and found them to be excellent - am still looking for a comparable replacement.0 -
I have just placed my first order with Berriewoods, minimum order is just £35. I placed an order yesterday and it is scheduled to arrive tomorrow. I haven't heard any negative comments on any forums about Berriewoods so fingers crossed all goes well0

We ordered minced meat from Prizechoice after we finished our last order from food4cats. We thought food4cats stopping trading was quite sudden as well and were a bit upset as we were generally happy with them and the cats loved the food.
The cats will eat the Prizechoice stuff but they don't seem very keen on it - they sniff it, look at me like "Where is our proper food?" and walk away from it!
So I think we'll be having a look at some of the other sites mentioned on this thread. Have a look at this thread on petforums http://www.petforums.co.uk/cat-health-nutrition/93122-food4cats.html
Field Farm Fresh might be able to help....

I have been reading this thread and would like some advice on feeding raw, my cats where brought up on it and I switched them over to commercial food as I was worried with raw being balanced but I think I may be better with more of a natural diet as one of my girls is very fussy. I breed so I need to ensure the pregnant cats are getting the right balance. Whats a good basic recipie to follow bearing in mind I dont have a grinder to make from scratch. Would I be better buying meat from somewhere like woldsway who can supply meat and bone and then just add offal etc? Any advice greatly appreciated, also how much would an average 4kg cat be expected to eat in a day.:D0
