I suppose the people who get to trial the new Boots products actually live in the same town as the development takes place (Nottingham?). How do Boots actually get to choose who trials their products?

Yes Nottingham is the main head office and also where the development team is.

Most of the time it's word of mouth for people who try out products (friends telling friends) but you do need to actually go to Nottingham or get someone to go there for you and pick up the necessary trials going on. You fill in a feedback questionnaire and usually you get vouchers etc (cant remember exactly how many products you have to take out) to use in boots etc for the products you trial out. Sometimes they do in house trials where you have to stay and they perform tests on you which could gain more rewards! (watch everyone run to nottingham now! :rotfl: )

Hi, so am I right in thinking what you were saying about Boots brands being as good as the real thing, that the Toni & Guy stuff in Boots is more or less the same stuff as TIGI anyway? I use TIGI, but if the Boots brand is the same, then I might as well buy those. Apologies if this is confusing.

The TIGI products are completely different because they are made by someone else (Maybe Tony & Guy themselves I'm not sure) but it seems the Boots Tony & Guy products are a good alternative and a lot cheaper than their counterparts.

best value washing up liquid.....after doing tests against our current washing up liquid we make it was concluded that the two best value washing up liquids are.........

Sainsbury's own brand and Booths washing up liquid.

Remember we have conducted tests on a number of brands and actually washed dishes with quite a few own branded washing up liquids (i.e. tesco, morrison) and these two came out top.

We didnt compare persil, fairy liquid etc as we were looking for own brand value washing up liquid and persil etc are more expensive.

    HTH people. :)

N.B. Just to make a point on this, this is for general washing up....I don't know the performance per se on real tough jobs like burnt on oven trays.

I live in Notitngham, and my dad has worked for Boots. Why does he not tell me this, and instead I get boring stories about how he thought the guy making the Charles Worthington products in the factory was called Charles, but he's actually called Frank

A few years ago I worked in a biscuit factory (Now Burtons). They do lots of home brands including the Cookies and chocolate sandwich.

Anyway, what happend there is, the Supermarket gave the factory the recipe and instructions of what they wanted....

Sorry to be picky about this, do you mean Sainsbury's washing up liquid 0000001047622_OCHM001_2_Spec2_20b635.jpg (comes in transparent plastic bottles, about four different flavours) or Sainsbury's "Original" (cheaper) washing up liquid 0000001043297_OCHM001_2_Spec2_20b629.jpg , comes in a white bottle, only one variety...??
