!n 1981 or so My dear husband and I invited Moben round to give us an estimate for a new kitchen at 7.30pm. Salesman was still there at 10.30 - doing all the usual .. phoning his 'boss' for a price reduction etc.
We said geat - put it in writing - the usual - special offer if you sign up today. We had to threaten to call the ploice before he would leave.Bought one from B&Q had a carpenter put it in. fine ...and cheaper.
Suggest NOT signing with Moben until you get an alternative quote as police force unlikely to turn up today .. even for for crazed kitchen salesperson!0 -
beachbeth wrote:On the subject of digestives, Sainsburys milk chocolate digestives are just the best!!! The chocolate is nice and they are just scrummy! I prefer them to McVities so whether its because the chocolate bit is nicer I don't know.
Slightly off topic perhaps, but I've always found Sainsbury's own brand biscuits to be better tasting than Tescos - possibly just personal preference.7 Angel Bears for LovingHands Autumn Challenge. 10 KYSTGYSES. 3 and 3/4 (ran out of wool) small blanket/large square, 2 premie blankets, 2 Angel Claire Bodywarmers0 -

Most of the bread that you buy from the instore supermarket bakeries are not prepared in the store. They are made in the factory and pre-frozen, and are defrosted and baked off in store.0 -
My husband took a faulty DVD player back to Curry's about six times before guarantee ran out ( I know but he's nicer than me).
Manager said he would not replace it 'over his dead body' etc.Made a lot of phone calls to their head office- all with no result.
Found out the name of Curry's chief executive - companies register.. now Companies House on internet.. worth paying the £2 or whatever... and his his home address.
Rang Curry's public relations department.
Said that I would organise a leaflet to be handed to his chief executive's wife - saying how badly the company treats its customers - after obtaining PR person's name.
After a bit of resistance at the other end... said I'd include PR person's name on leaflet.
Received letter to give to store manager next day.
Manager's gritted teeth would have won the World Teeth Gritting championship... easily. He had to give us an up-graded machine as the store no longer sold old model.
New machine still running - around 7 years later.
Ps This works may not work unless you live within radius of CE's home. Luckily, we did.0 -
I got the blue Lidl antibacterial mouthwash for 55p & I am very impressed. Apart from the taste, I'd say it's just like Listerine. The ingredients are almost identical. My partner and I will certainly be buying this from now on instead of paying 4x more for Listerine0

That's a bit out of order, you are invading his privacy there!
Work and personal life should be kept completely seperate. I think what you did looking up his details borders on harrassment. You should have taken the problem up with Trading Standards, not the guys wife.0 -
Well I did spend several hours on the phone to Curry's - at an expensive rate. Since directors etc grow rich on money from faulty goods - who's harrassment?
You might be interested to know that Birmingham and Midshires used to have a hotline to their directors if their computer web-site (advertised as 24-hours). Had to ring it once and wife-of-director and director was very nice indeed. Perhaps more British compnaies should follow example.
If you get to area manager/ director level, working your way up through those that have no power to help, those that would -ike-to-but-can't and those that slam the phone down on you....you will find that they are intelligent enough to solve the problem and you will get your money back/problem solved.0 -
Totally off subject and i appologise, but jolly how can you have £1.49 in your £2 savers club? lol im not being rude just wondering0

You are correct - supplied by the Electrolux group so AEG/Zanussi etc.0 -
mel734 wrote:I've just reread the 'lost' posts and the specifically the one about Tescos Rice Pops being the same colour and taste as Rice Krispies. NO WAY!!! The Rice Pops are really pale compared to Rice Krispies and taste slightly different. I'm currently munching my way thru a box of Rice Pops because my four year old won't touch them with a bargepole!
Have you tried fooling him by putting the Rice Pops into the Rice Krispies packet? They may not taste exactly the same but I often find that they don't notice so long as they come out of the right packet!!!
