My Father worked for a Sainsbury's Distribution Company and he informed me that the Sainsbury's Basic white label cartoned pure orange juice is in fact princess orange juice. He also confirmed that their chocolate digestives where made by mcvities.

While shopping in Morrisons i have found their own brand cereals have less salt, sugar and additives than Kelloggs cereals. Healthier and much cheaper.

Surely the title of this thread is wrong. It should be something like "Who makes which Own Brand" or something.

There's a big difference between something being produced in the same factory and it being an identical product sold under another name.

For example, just because Tesco Value bread is made by the same people who make Kingsmill, doesn't mean that Tesco Value bread is the same.

That isn't always the case. There's a large variety of products that may have different wrappers or sleeves - but ARE the same product, often at vastly differing prices! That's the whole point of the thread.......

For fans of Belgian Chocolate Sea Shells. Buy the Gran Gala Pralines from Lidl £1.49. They are exactly the same as Guylian £3.50. Identical in taste and layout in box. In fact all the chocolate items in Lidl are very good. Also try the Florentines about £1.29. I take one or other of the above as an extra gift with wine or flowers to a dinner invitation and they are always well received.

And how many of those are actually posted in this thread?

Most of the posts are "my mum works for x and they make z for tesco". Utterly meaningless as it's not just where the product is made, but the ingredients used which make the difference.
  • Hi to all

Have searched the thread but no matches came up for servis.

Am looking to buy a washing machine made by Servis, but have never used them before. Was wondeing are they made by another company I might have heard of? Or has anyone used them before and can recommend their products??

    Thanks

 Hi this is my first post so please be gentle with me.
I used to work for a food company who supplied meals for the airlines and also tinned and packaged foods, The tins were all filled and the line was run until the specified order was filled or the particular food was completly used up, lasagne, tagletelle, bolognase etc.
We then labelled all the tins for tesco, marks, asda etc using the same batch for the whole lot so I now buy the cheaper version of all my food items as the odds are the ingredients are the same, okay you may get an inferior one but I think this is few and far between.
I also work in tesco and all value pasties pies etc come from ginsters.

I have a servis washing machine and think that it's fantastic value for money with the exception of the noise level, which, I feel is slightly higher than other machines. A friend of mine bought the same model upon my recommendation and her's is quieter but the dial is slightly out of alignment with the numbers.

As far as I can tell you Servis is a decent make which is practical, hard-wearing and does the job really well cosidering the very low cost of their items.
