About cosmetics companies being owned by others. Yes, it's known that one company may own a few others, but the quality of the products is not necessarily the same quality.

Some personal comparisons:

Clinique skincare products felt noticably different. I had been using Boots Botanics before.
Tesco economy chocolate chip cookies are so much nicer than Sainsbury's ones which taste like cardboard.
Some Asda food tastes awful. I tried different types of crisps; bacon rashers, onion rings etc and these were horrible. The flavourings were nasty and acidic and after eating lots made my mouth feel almost burnt. Whereas Tesco and Sainsbury's versions were always fine. The Asda finest range cakes were hard, dry and horrible.

You may remember me I made a post about Magic Knickers the other day, this is a case of two identical products with different packaging, brand name and prices!!!
As I posted earlier, Figleaves sell two branded support Knickers, one by Magic Knickers, and one called revolution support pantiesby Cette.
Placed side by side they are identical, except for a poor label inside the MK's and a smart logo on the Cette pair, the packaging was very different, but the cheaper pair had the classier packaging.
So all you ladies (or whatever), take a look at fig leaves and vive la difference, or not!!

Boots also make anything marked "Crookes Healthcare" this includes Strepsils throat sweets and E45 cream. I used to work for Boots, and we used to get more discount off Boots own brand products - which I found by chance included those mentioned here. The logos are also similar, and the head office is the same address. I seem to remember E45 cream being featured in a training video as well!

Jessops use rebranded Agfa film as their own brand film. I heard this through the grapevine, then asked a Jessops member of staff. Also Agfa film, when scanned in Jessops comes up as "Jessops" !

Other Jessops own brands include Centon and Portaflash. These originally are made by a range of manufacturers ...

Finally, only Canon use the initials Av (Aperture Value) and Tv (Time Value) on their cameras, other manufacturers use A (aperture) and S (Speed). A recent Centon camera had Av and Tv markings, meaning than Canon must have produced at least part of it!

Or somebody at Centon once owned a Canon.......this is a bit of a wild conclusion to leap to!

Tescos coffee is made by Kraft foods, in the same factory as Kenco coffee.
Gold Blend is made by Nestle.

I am looking to buy a new washing machine, I like the Zanussi make. Can
anyone tell me of some cheaper brands of washing machines that have the
same motor as the Zanussi, obviously I would like to save money if the
only difference is the outside casing etc.

Also the same for Panasonic I like their products too, T.V.'s Hi Fi, Video
and DVD's players. What makes/brands have the same components as
Panasonic.

Might as well tell me if Sony products come under some other brand as well.

I would be very grateful for any info.

Apologies to the men out there - this one is for the females!

I think Sainsburys own brand tampons are made by lil-lets - packing is same just different colour and information leaflet is identical apart from name, addresses etc.
Last time I bought them the sainsburys ones were less than half the price of lil-lets.
