For me, hubbie and 2 kids (and 13 rodents who need pasta and cereals for the homemade mix I make) we are spending around £300-£350 a month on average. This does include all household items, toilettres etc but we don't have ready meals (can't stand them), many treats or have food left over so I don't really know where the money goes! I think my first challenge will be to go through reciepts (they normally just go straight in the shredder) and see how they break down. I really didn't think we spent more than average until I joined here!! :o

Cor I have reciepts going back about a year. I know should shred them. But I will once they are are few months old honest. Got to get a new filing system in place. Never know when something might need to go back

Don't forget we are all tight on here. Well I am so that is why my food bill is so small.

There will come a point when you can't get it down any more. But even if you can shave off £50-£100 a month. Better in your pocket then theres.

I'm starting tomorrow.... I've got £25 in my spare purse all ready and waiting. This is the amount I plan to spend on 2 for the week.

I think the biggie for me is loo roll. For some reason my o/h uses about one roll a day! We argue non-stop about it but it does'nt get any better. Guys and their toileting habits.........yuch!

I'll be in touch and good luck to everyone :T

Yeah but I joined because I need to learn to be tight too lol! If I could save £100 a month of the food bill not only could we get debt free a lot quicker we might even be able to go on a (cheap obviously!) holiday next year! *daydreams*

I'm determined to get our money situation under control now and with the help and advice from all you lovely people I know I can, just need to be strict with myself!

Good luck to everyone doing the challenge! :)

Blinking heck a roll a day:eek: I don't think we use that a week and there are two of us in the house.

Stand on the roll to squish it. Means it will not come off the roll as quickly.

Or be really mean and only give him a few sheets each time he goes in :rotfl:

Think I'll buy some of that hard paper loo roll, I'm sure he'll cut down then, or maybe not...

Hmmn he couldn't be gluten intoleratant or something could he? My honey baby darlin' of a sister-in-law (quite fond of her incase you can't tell lol!) is a coeliac - or has coeliac diease to be pc - and a less than pleasant and settled tum is the first side effect if she has any wheat. Apparently you can be intolerant or sensitive to it without being allergic, just a thought.

It's at this point that I get a vision of toilet paper going in mouth, and out the other end and a flossing action used...

How else do you use so much toilet roll?
