Just been catching up with this, seems like everyone's worried at where to draw the line before it becomes naff and tacky! I think whatever you do will be so much fun! That pic of the two of you is lovely too, I don't have any like that of us, they're always taken by OH at arm's length and I always have my poppy out eye thing going on

I have a poppy eye problem too! OH calls it my alien eye! That picture was taken by a real photographer on holiday last year, I'd been bugging OH the entire time we were there about getting a nice picture of us together to put on our wedding invites because I'd originally planned to use photo invites but none of the pictures we got were really good enough so we had a really embarrassingly lame photo shoot with the photographer (we only had to pay for the prints we wanted, it cost nothing for the ‘shoot’) and ended up with that photo. OH looks really old in it (he’s had crow’s feet since about age 13!) but it’s quite nice!

Mrs E, I’m getting married at The Riu Mambo in Puerto Plata, it’s a good balance between lovely hotel and affordable so our guests aren’t totally breaking the bank to come! At ‘our’ hotel guests can buy a day pass if they’re staying elsewhere but I’d double check that children are allowed at the Excellence! We booked our wedding package through Thomas Cook, I was going to go through the hotel but it was the same price and we ended up getting it a little cheaper through TC as the travel agent took an extra discount off the whole holiday and wedding together after OH beat her down! Not literally of course!

Hey Birdie, we went on holiday to the Riu's in September but stayed in the Bachata, visited the Mambo and the merenguie a few times and saw quite a few weddings whilst there!

Looks like a gorgeous place Birdie. Is that part of the Riu chain? We stayed in the Riu Cancun in Mexico (see Dooyoo review :A), and it looks pretty similar.

Me three! My OH calls it 'big eye, little eye' they're a naughty lot our men.

Thanks! We were going to stay at the Bachata but we stayed at the Mambo last time and liked it and we decided to go back to that one as we wanted it to be as cheap as possible for our friends and we didn't want to be separated from them at meal times... it would have been like, 'Right, we're off to the 'better' hotel for dinner... see you later for drinks'!

It is part of the Riu chain, OH and I fancy getting a clubcard thingy and doing a Caribbean tour of Riu hotels... in our dreams!

OK, call me crazy but I've just sent an enquiry to a dance lesson company asking them how much it'll be to choreograph and teach a load of 2-left-feeters (and one show off who thinks he's Justin Timberlake!) an entrance dance! I love love love this you tube video and would love to dance down the aisle to 'I Gotta Feeling' (Black Eyed Peas) as it is 'my' song that everyone goes crazy to now when it's on because we all dance like loons (and I'm the looniest I'll admit!). I don't know any dancers or I'd ask them to help me out! Maybe if we just have one 2 hour lesson or something we could get a feel of what to do and wing it! Everyone I've spoken to about it is oddly terrified and delighted at the idea!
