Thanks! Because we're obviously travelling for the wedding we wanted something that carried that theme so we've got luggage tags for the Save The Dates and I'm making 'Passports' for the actual invitations!

That's what we have done :D We are getting married in Italy and having an Italian themed party when we get back. My OH is a graphic designer and designed some fab Italian passports as invitations which looked like they had been stamped and everything. We also enclosed a 'boarding pass' which people have to return as an rsvp. The feedback we've had so far has been amazing and everyone has been so excited they don't want to return the rsvps as they want to keep them hehehe

I just hope Bristol airport don't get a load of people trying to board our flight with their 'Italian' passports and boarding cards :rotfl:

Oooh, I'm so jealous of your OH's talents! I really wanted to make boarding passes but I'm just not smart enough. I've ended up buying leather passport covers for my invitations because I had no idea how to make them look realistic! Can I see pictures? OH's given me a deadline of 1 month to get the Passports finished and I keep looking at the template I downloaded and squeaking in fear then closing it down! :rotfl:

Your party will be fad, like Tete said, lots of pizza, pasta and ice cream! Lovely! Are you going to have a Gelato bar?!

Thanks for the link Lulu! Will keep it in mind if the plans go awry! I don't know how much the fruit will cost to buy it ourselves so may work out well to just get someone in to do it!

Today I have been thinking about OH's outfit for the wedding. He was going to wear shorts and a white linen shirt with flip flops, he's a very warm person so would really love to just wear pants TBH as he gets more bright red and shiny with every layer of clothing (going to get some of those matifying face wipe things from Mac so he doesn't look too bad in our wedding photos!) but he's now worrying that he'll look silly since I'm wearing a 'proper' wedding dress. I don't know what he thought I'd be wearing before... Anyway, what are your thoughts? I was just going to ask all the men to wear very neutral colours and to stick to shorts/ lightweight trousers and for the women to wear bright dresses, but if OH wears a suit he'll still look silly if everyone else is dressed down!

Also having 'words' with my Dad tonight as he wants to wear his Crocs!

Ahhhhh thanks Birdie :D Will take some pics this evening and try and post them later (if I can work out how to do it!)
Foodwise we are having handmade rustic pizza, Italian breads, meat platter, tom and mozarella salad, pasta, olives etc and Italian wines and Peroni behind the bar. I am also having a cupcake tower with lemon and vanilla cakes. Thats a fab idea about the gelato bar.....might have to investigate that one! We are taking everyone to a gelaterie after the ceremony in Italy :rotfl:
We are having tri-colour bunches of balloons and I have Italian flag bunting to put up round the bar. Am also going to make some table decs with bowls of lemons/tealights and am also looking into buying some artificial lemon trees (so expensive though!)
    heeeeeeee am sooooooo excited :j

Your wedding sounds lush Sparkle! If you come to mine can I come to yours?!

I'm going to steal all of your ideas and adapt them to make it look like I thought of it! I wanted to hire palm trees and set up a hammock in a corner but they're so expensive to hire, and hammocks on stands are pricey too! May end up being a couple of deckchairs and an inflatable palm tree, although they look soooo lame! I really wish my budget could match my imagination!

  • This might sound crazy for you palm tree fruit you could get a pole like a garden umbrella wrap tin foil around it with green tissue paper over the top of it and then make like fruit kebabs i.e fruit on sticks that the guests could just pull out of it and put in the chocolate fountain.

Wow Sparkle, your wedding sounds beautiful! :D

Birdie, when i was in Mexico we went to a hammock beach. It was really weird, it was a stretch of sand with trees and hammocks!

Is your party back home gonna be inside or outside? If outside, you could get those tiki torches, like wooden ones you set fire too, they'd look pretty cool.
