This might sound crazy for you palm tree fruit you could get a pole like a garden umbrella wrap tin foil around it with green tissue paper over the top of it and then make like fruit kebabs i.e fruit on sticks that the guests could just pull out of it and put in the chocolate fountain.

    Steph xx

I was thinking something like that. The tree is basically made up of pineapples on a stick, and I like the effect that it gives. You core the pineapple so you just use the skin for the tree bit and then stick the fruit on cocktail sticks and attach it to the 'tree'. I don't really like the trees with the fruit covering them, think I'll leave mine empty and put fruit around the bottom. It seems pointless spending ages hollowing out pineapples to make the tree then covering it up!

Wow Sparkle, your wedding sounds beautiful! :D

Birdie, when i was in Mexico we went to a hammock beach. It was really weird, it was a stretch of sand with trees and hammocks!

Is your party back home gonna be inside or outside? If outside, you could get those tiki torches, like wooden ones you set fire too, they'd look pretty cool.

We went to a beach like that, well it was a rest area at a waterpark place called Xcaret. It was the birth of my love affair with hammocks!

The party is going to be inside since it'll be March! I was thinking about Tiki torches lighting the way in to the place though, as long as it isn't raining it should look good!

I went to Cancun with my parents when I was 15 (can't believe that was 10 years ago! ), we went on my birthday and I remember everyone making a big deal about it being my Quinceanera! :D I'd love to go back, it was fantastic!

Oh you were too young to enjoy it at 15!! The clubs are UNBELIEVABLE!!

We stayed in a gorgeous 5star hotel all inclusive for a week, and the weddings there were gorgeous

We were there over Spring Break which was a bit of a nightmare at age 15 as it was heaving with drunk college students and it was pretty scary! I'd like to go back and join in with the drunkness now! Although maybe not quite as enthusiastically as the students! Can't remember where we stayed, but it looks like a pyramid of sorts, with 'steps' up each side... I think! We didn't go all inclusive thankfully as the restaurants are incredible! Had some of the best food ever! One of the best meals we had was in a tiny little cantina down a dingy alley where we sat on rickety stools and ate fajitas... it was amazing!

They warned us off the local food! But when we did go out it was sooo nice! But the food at the hotel was excellent, they had everything you could think of, so we still got to try loads. All the alcohol was included too so cant complain, free cocktails :D on the beach.

I'd love to go back! We done everything over there. Drove our own speedboats, went snorkelling in a lagoon in the middle of the ocean, went to the old mayan villages and awwwwwww i'll stop now, because i want to go back!! :(

    Back to your wedding...
What are the invites like for the party back home?

Hehe... must stop thinking about Mexico and think about the Dominican!

I haven't decided what to do for the invites back home. Making them by hand is out of the question as OH wants to invite the whole rugby club (4 teams and a load of retired players so a LOT!) and they'll probably get thrown in kit bags and rumpled up so I'm not putting too much effort into them! I was thinking of getting a postcard style invite with a nice picture of us on printed by vistaprint or similar, will stick the picture on Flickr tonight and link it, can't do it now as work won't let me!

We went to the DR for our honeymoon last year. It was fantastic and I loved it!!!

How about some cocktails made with delicious Dominican dark rum?? I swear I came home looking like a cocktail, and with several bottles of rum!!!

LOL, we figured out that we'd got through something like 8 litres of Rum last time! I loved the Pina Coladas, can't wait for them! Mmmmm.

Anyway, back to the suggestion! Good idea! My Mum suggested handing out Pina Coladas or *something* as the welcome drink. Might have to work out the possibilites of that!

Here's the picture I fancy using on the postcard invite: http://www.flickr.com/photos/38138694@N08/4387884360/
