Glad firing of BM went ok, and that OH's friend is now coming. Sorry to hear about the rubbish cancellation of flights.

I was out in Portsmouth this afternoon, as I was down that way for work, and looked in Birthdays, as I was looking for invites for our reception, and I got all excited, because, they had loads of stuff that would be suitable for your reception - all of it was quite cheap too, so I don't know if you have one near you - they had scene setters, metallic palm trees to go on tables, big palm leave, and all sorts. Off to look and see if they have a website, and if they do, will put up a link. ETA have found a link, but doesn't show their products, but does have a storefinder on there for you.

Think we've finalised our guest list now - just need to find some nice invites or materials to make them with now. Annoyingly, we only need 23 invites - 20 would've been great ideally, as most invites seem to be sold in packs of 10, so will have to look out for a 25, and that way if anyone can't come, I have a couple spare for different guests.

Thanks for the tip Sexymouse! I'm not sure where my nearest Birthdays is, the store finder keeps coming up with nothing for all of my local towns! Is there one at Teeside Park Tete/Dinah or is that big card shop I'm thinking of something else?

What kind of style are you going with for your invites Sexymouse?

Oooh good, I'll have to pop up sometime, I can check TK Maxx whilst I'm there for fun, bright gardeny type tat too!

Oooh talking of gardens; I went to B&Q last Friday with my Mum as I was after some plants to stick outside my patio doors and we found little palm trees for £4.50 each (they're about a foot and a half tall) so we got 2 each and we're going to love and nurture them so hopefully they'll be looking nice and healthy and happy by February and we can use them as decorations at the party! Think Mum's going to talk SIL into buying a couple too!

Glad I could help with the Birthdays thing.

I'm not sure what style for my invites. I was thinking quite simple with ivory or white background and silver writing. Trouble is, shop bought invites for wedding have the wrong wording on them - wedding invitation doesn't apply as it'll be in Jamaica, and the evening reception also doesn't work as it's at 1pm. I may make my own, and have just thought I could ask my Mum if I could tag along next time they go to the local art bank (I am a teacher, so I might get away with it).

Otherwise, I was thinking that these ones from M&S may be nice, as they tie in with our afternoon tea party, and we're probably going to have cupcakes for our wedding cake (made by my Mum).

Aw thanks for the kind words Linda, it's nice to have a professional compliment the plans and the dress! :D Which is coming in to the shop next month, eeek! It doesn't seem 2 minutes since I ordered it and was moaning that I had to wait ages to get it! :o

It goes without saying. You are doing a grand job with everything and your choices are superb. You must give me some info as I'd love to pop over and see you on your big day!! xx

On the wedding day or the party day Linda? Would be hilarious if you turned up at the wedding! :D I'll let everyone know the party date once it's sorted so you can pop over for a nosy!

Sexymouse, I like the cupcake invites, they're very sweet! We're (I say 'we', he has no idea!) going to get little 'business' cards printed on moo.com with a photo of us on one side and the details on the other. It's only about £12 for a pack of 100 cards too so MSE! For your invites it might look nice and classy if you can get white card and get a 'shadow' of a palm tree on it or something to give a little hint of the tropics!

Bridesmaid tried the Asda dress today, and it fits - just need to ask my mum if she can alter the zip a bit though, as it rubs as the teeth bit hasn't been taped off at the end. Also need to remove the flower bit on the front as it's far too big and just looks odd - we are thinking of either getting an ivory ribbon to tie in a bow at the back (to match my dress colour), or getting a flower brooch or corsage to go where the original flower is.

Also, I got my invites today, as discovered a new store - Home sense, which is owned by TKMaxx, and they had some lovely white flower notecards (I will be having white flowers in my bouquet, fingers crossed) - there are only 20 cards, so will buy 3 individual ones for family. They usually sell for around £8.99, and I got them for £2.99. Anyone still looking for invites, may want to see if they have a Home sense opening up near them, as they had some gorgeous things there, and they get deliveries every day apparently. I could have spent ages looking at all of their stuff, and bought lots of other things there too.

Fab invite bargain Sexymouse! I think an ivory corsage will look nice on the BM dress. :)

MIL2B got her dress on Saturday, I was just in town and decided to pop into one of the posh shops to have a look, had a chat with the shop assistant who picked out lots of nice dresses so I rang her and told her to meet me there and we found the one! Totally not what we were after but it looks lovely on, it really flatters her figure, it's light, and it's got flowers on so it ties in with what everyone else is wearing, in a way! Click! She said she wants to insure it since she's never spent that much on an outfit before! She doesn't really mind bless her, money doesn't mean a lot to her, if she has it she spends it, if not she doesn't! I'm trying to think of what to put with it now though, do I brighten it up with other colour accessories or stick to cream? I said to her, 'Oh, that was easy, I thought we'd be trekking all over the country looking for dresses!' and she said, 'Well... I still need other holiday dresses so you do still have to take me out again', I think I've turned her into a shopaholic!
