It looks like they're only doing flights every other week so they're not doing 1 week holidays, luckily we're going in the 'right' week.

Friend has just text me to say that she definitely can't get time off work to come. :( I've been looking all over this afternoon for alternative holiday companies but I'm finding nothing. Looks like plenty of his friends will be there and none of mine!:(:(:(

A very sad, 'distressed Bride' letter shall be penned!

In happier news OH has just text me to say that another one of his friends has booked for 2 weeks which is great!

Are there defo no other flights there? I'm sure you have probably checked but is it possible for your friends to take the DIY travel option?

Birdie, I've been lurking for a while and I'm so sorry to hear about the flight nightmare! You need to bring out the big guns for your letter to TC! Play the distressed bride card for all its worth! Fingers crossed :)

How did it all go with the BM/exBM last night?

I agree, Poddle. You should ask TC to sort you out another travel option Birdie. Get your MSE head on and go for it! If you need help with a letter, we can help you. xx

Thanks girlies! I was looking at flights last night but it looks like they'll have to go from Manchester-Gatwick-New York-Dominican Republic (or some other similar jaunt) which is something crazy like 33hrs travelling time and it's a bit much for the sake of a week! At the weekend I'll pop in and ask them to have a look and see if they can come up with anything better.

Work is a bit manic at the moment so I've not had a chance to think about a letter but if I get time this afternoon I'll start writing and ask for help!

BM was OK about being 'fired', think she was a bit miffed that I'd already got SIL's BM dress but it's her own fault for not being better about it all in the first place! They (her and her OH) won't be able to come now anyway as they're both teachers too, and she couldn't have looked less bothered. I'm so touched that we mean that much to them.... (rolly eyes smily!) OH's friend who booked yesterday on the other hand is a real true friend, OH text him to tell him about the limited spaces so he immediately rang up the travel agent in our town even though he lives in Wales to make sure his booking would be linked to ours and booked it, no questions asked! It was only after he booked it that he asked if anyone else was coming because he really hadn't bothered to worry about if any other friends were coming, he just wanted to be there for OH, which is so lovely! OH was jumping around all night because he was so excited!

He sounds like a great friend. Glad the firing of the BM went well

    He does sound lovely.

Even if TC are only doing two-week holidya sin general, you'd think they'd make an exception for half-term week? Gargh. Bring on the strong words!

You'd think so wouldn't you? It seems mental! I think even if they would be able to come for the week it'd cause a problem scheduling wise as the only day we'd be able to get married so everyone is there for it is Monday 21st which is my Mum's birthday! I'd rather not get married on her birthday, we'd never be able to have a quiet anniversary meal again because she'd always want joint family do's!

Aw thanks for the kind words Linda, it's nice to have a professional compliment the plans and the dress! :D Which is coming in to the shop next month, eeek! It doesn't seem 2 minutes since I ordered it and was moaning that I had to wait ages to get it! :o
