Thanks, the 306 still has a place in my heart. Although I'd love a supercharged GTi6 I'm a bit of a track / performance nut now, my other was a Turbo Diesel
The runabout car now is a Passat, I'm a van of Vags too, I'd love an old skool herbie :cool:Owner of andrewhope.co.uk, hate cars and love them

It's scary to think I owed the equivalent to my age nearly!
I was very lucky that they brought me out and I cleared the £10k without any effort, I think I would have been totally overwhelmed otherwise.

I walked to work this morning, must start doing this at least twice a week again. It saves me £5 a week in petrol, which I can then pay off the Lloyds card instead.
If I kept it up for a whole year it would save me £240 and keep me fit!LBM Aug 09: £18,650.47 - Current: £12,854.93 (£5946.79)

Hi Happy
I drive half way and walk the last 20 mins as it takes too long otherwise, also I live in a village and the main road I would have to walk down has no pavement and the cars go so fast it doesn't feel like a very sensible option!LBM Aug 09: £18,650.47 - Current: £12,854.93 (£5946.79)

Me too!
Everyone thinks because I live in the country, I can go for lovely walks - more like I would lose my life, the cars travel so fast its impossible to walk, esp with the dog!LBM Feb 2010 £62,700 Total Debt Jan 11 [STRIKE]£49,403.84[/STRIKE] £47,530.32.

The little old ladies who live in the village stand on the church steps with speed guns monitoring the cars using the village as a short cut into Bristol city centre. They crack me up though as they can't keep their hands from shaking and no-one pays any attention to them!LBM Aug 09: £18,650.47 - Current: £12,854.93 (£5946.79)

Do you think your OH might tell you to bug*er off lol!
I very stupidly brought a 2.0 Gti Peugeot, costs me a fortune in fuel and over £200 a year on tax.
Am tempted to sell it but it's only worth £1,500, plus I've had the cam belt done and I know it's reliable, whereas I could buy a little run around that turns out to be a complete lemon!
My OH also points out that once I am debt free I won't have to worry about the running costs so much and would still have a decent car.
So walking to work to save on fuel seems like a good compromise!LBM Aug 09: £18,650.47 - Current: £12,854.93 (£5946.79)
