Well done Woowoo! How will you find the £230 do you think? Do you do ebay etc? and does that take into account Xmas spending etc?

    Hi EB

I don't really know lol! Am hoping to save some from my weekly shopping money, some of it will come off as interest reduces. I have budgeted money for a girls night out in Dec (this will probably all get spent though!). I have £300 in the budget for my snowboarding holiday, am thinking of reducing this to £250 if it comes to it.

Basically just a lot of hoping and praying that I get there!

I am inspired - had a little wobble this morning about getting CC cleared in 12 months - going to be so hard... and I really want to find that £550+ asap to get my beneath £40k!

It will be hard EB, but you do get used to making the changes and then this becomes the norm.

It will feel fantastic to get under that £40k mark, just imagine if you hadn't had your LBM you might of added that £550 by now!

Woo does have an amazing ability to keep squeezing that budget till she gets the money she needs!

My budget as already been cut down to £80 a month for food, £80 for going out (my social life has had to become inventive!) and £24 a month for cigarettes...shhhh... but even then I find I can still cut it sometimes! Extra working always seems to be the answer for me.

Maybe you could ebay to get that £550 EB - would be so worth the boost of dropping below 40K :)

well done for getting sub £12k i'm sure, knowing you and your determination, that you will surely make the 10999 for your December pay day. I'm going to work out when i get home what my total will be on that payday as we're running so close to each other debt wise at the moment.
OH's payday here today so i can finally finalise this months numbers and more importantly update my signature.

EB from one who started at almost £49k  i can guarentee you'll feel wonderful for getting under £40k and all the struggle will be worthwhile. You'll also find that as your total gets lower it becomes, i won't say easier to pay off, but easier to get the total to reduce. Probably doesn't make sense but i think of it as a spiral. Your expenses and spending spiral upwards till you hit your LBM, then they falter over a brink. eventualy you start going back down the spiral and the further you get the more result you see for your effort, ie you save that bit more interest and therefore the 'interest tide' doesn't wash away your efforts as much each month.
sorry if that doesn't make sense but it does in my weird and wonderful head.

thanks both of you. It seems impossible at the moment, particularly with it being this time of year and so many expenses coming up. Still havent sorted out the alternate quote for my tenant yet but I've decided that I simply cannot justify £780 for one door - I had a house double glazed and three doors for only £3000 a few yars ago! Even if I dont make massive chunks off before Christmas, getting it all in control, not rising and getting on interest free will at least mean I can start 2011 focussed, but I am still determined to be sub £40k by 1 Dec! Wonder what I would get to sell my body... oh no, already considered that and we decided I'd be lucky for a bag of spuds...:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    Woowoo - keep inspiring me!

I just waited in a massive queue in the bank to pay in £1.84! I had the hottest guy stood next to me and could of died when it was my turn and had to say 'can I pay in £1.84 please'!

Still that £1.84 has now been sent to Lloyds!
