I've never been "proper" skiing. Used to live in Canada so when weather was bad I would sometimes ski to shops for milk etc (easier than sticking on snow tyres) but that was cross country so hard work but not so thrilling, I'd imagine. Bet I'd be rubbish at it...

Lived there a few years - our main home was just outside Toronto on the shores of Lake Ontario, but holiday cottage was about 3 hours north and that was the one we'd get snowed in at! So pretty, and even with all the snow etc still less disruption than here on a grey day...
