Dragon I LOVE the fathers day card!I got some codes in my bounty pack for the Kleenex oval so DS and I "created" an oval for daddy to take to work, using a photo of the two of them that we took at our wedding in March. We did it in greens and browns mostly, so I'd love to try a card to go with it (my first challenge maybe?) And it only cost me £2.99 with delivery :D

Evening - just blogged a couple of makes - one of them is very different to my usual stuff - brown but no bear - amazing what tidying for the MIL to come can unearth :rotfl:
Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended :p

lol no glossery but you'll soon get the hang of it distressing is when you kinda rip tear the edges of the paper to do it with scissors you open them up and the kinda pull them along the edge of the paper untill you like the way it looks same sort of thing with sandpaper you rub it over the paper to make it look old. HTH someone else will prob be along with a much clearer explaination soon
Ment to add ask away with the questions we all had to ask them at some point.

    Ahh Polkadot,

I think I can help with this one, I'm sure it's when after cutting your card stock you rub your scissor over the edge to give it a rough edge, I use an old emery board sometimes to do the same job,
And I colour in using prismacolour pencils they are on the expensive side but are lovely, WH Smiths sells similar blendable pencils a lot cheaper
    take care Jo

Ps hi to everyone else I have read and realise that I sometimes forget to click thank you so THANK YOU to you all x
    Take care Jo x

Wow thats taken ages to catch up again, note to self, must check out forum more regularly...

Jowri - congrats on the fab news you all deserve to be high as kites for as long as you like.
DTB - my stash arrived and its fab. I love the very oriental look to some of the papers. The die cuts will come in very handy as I have 3 pregnant friends at the mo and lots of congrats and then welcome cards to make for them.

I was being reasonably well behaved but then the spendy elves noticed a 25p sale over on madaboutcards so they escaped again. Its amazing how much a few 25p's can add up to :rotfl:

I know a few of you ladies have mentioned that you have been making things for craft fairs lately. I've been asked to do a craft stall for my sons nursery summer fete, but in true fund raising style that means I'm donating everything I make so it needs to be very very cheap! Please help me out with as many ideas as possible. I thought I'd make some post it note covers as I've already got some mini gel pens to put with them and plenty of paper and card. Childrens bead/elastic bracelets (after a slight mix up with my orders I have at least twice as many glow in the dark pony beads than intended!). Lip balm in mini jam jars decorated. What else is quick, easy and cheap?

    Hugs to all xxx

Nicci - How about wrapping up a small box, block of oasis, polystyrene wood whatever you've got in pretty paper with a ribbon trim, flower and adding the verse that goes

"This is a very special gift
    That you can never see.
    The reason it's so special
Is, it's just for you from me.
    Whenever you are lonely
    Or even feeling blue,
You only have to hold this gift
And know I think of you.
    You never can unwrap it
    Please leave the ribbon tied,
Just hold the box next to your heart
    It's filled with LOVE inside."

Easy, cheap & ideal for mums/grandmas to buy.:)

Welcome Polkadot ask as many questions as you like.

No promarkers here:) (I do have a few copics - but my colouring is so carp I might as well not have any! I prefer colouring on the pc it's so much neater)

Tired Mum & Dragonllew - hope you have wonderful holidays

I've blogged my challenge entry - it's not a card though.
I really should be doing something else right now. We're off on our hols on Saturday and I have done no packing/washing/ironing/tidying. I have one croc missing - essentilal kit on a camping trip. Its "&sons" sports day tomorrow at the English Institute of Sport so I ahev to get all his stuff ready for that too.
So I won't have time to blog all the other things I've made in the last week or so but I do have another blog that just has pictures on it - I use it as a "shop window" for if people ask for commissioned cards at work to get an idea of the type of thing they might like. If you do fancy a look, can I draw your attention to the pinkest wedding card I have ever seen - I don;t know what came over me - I went all girly but the wedding colours are shocking pink and baby pink so it's not completely inappropriate ;-)
Just follow the link on the left hand side of my main blog - it's called 'Just the pics"

Another one here guilty of owning all 148 ProMarkers and to make it worse I only brought them in two batches lol! x
Lei - thankyou for the kind offer, but you have stamped me images before and I still haven't used some of them ones!! hope you enjoy your weekend !

Don't be silly - i'll do you some anyway x

polkadot distressing is making the edges look aged and distressed by either tearing them, filing them with sand paper, scraping them with scissors or inking them - if you look at my blog i've distressed my last 3 cards & I know Rainmac has also been hooked on distressing lately too x

I'm feeling positively vitruous with my little lot of 36 now. Perhaps I can return to Hobbycraft and pick up those 4 packs I got all the way to the till with before deciding that I really shouldn't :rotfl::rotfl:
