Morning Crafty Ju Ju
You're welcome.
Trust me, everyone thinks that it only happens to them, and that it never happens to anyone else - and yes they do feel silly, guilty or whatever, but honestly, you'd be surprised at how often it happens. I can empathsise with each individual though for thinking that they're the only one.
I fully understand how people feel too when they're sat in that chair, and the stress that some people go through at the very thought of having a blood test.

Sally Thank you for your most reassuring posts on blood tests
... it is reassuring to read that you understand that it can be a stressful time for some of us, feeble excuse when worse things are happening in the world.. but when you know from past experienc it is going to hurt and that nine times out of ten the person taking the blood has a fight on their hands to get blood out and have to reposition the needle... shivers!!! _pale_
Maybe the rooms should have magazines in to take the persons mind off a bit and then they won't be as tense.. like crafting mags... or posters to distract the mind from the procedure that is going to happen...??? All I can say is you must have the patience of a saint...Self imposed crafty stash ban: started again 22/8/10 1 whole month stash free!

Oooh, I's all excited :j I won a challenge over at Pile It On, choice of 4 digi stamps from Meljens Designs. I love her digis. The card was made with one of her designs (Too Sweet Kitty, it's lovely).
Right, a quickie as I was very late up today, recovering from yesterday, and I want to get a fair bit done.TomsMom - Glad you had a successful trip out. We were in Shrewsbury on Saturday, I love it. Didn't realise that Dunelm had a craft section though, is that in the retail park near the Tesco Park & Ride at Harlescott? How far is Wrexham from you as there is some sort of Art Stamp Papercraft show at Wrexham University on the 31st July I think. I can't find out anymore more details but saw it advertised in a magazine so need to try and find the advert again as I may manage to get to that one.

Dunelm is on the Sundorn retail park, just across the traffic lights from the big new Tesco and B & Q. It's down the bottom, there's Homebase, Staples, DFS (?), then Dunelm. It's quite a big one and although we don't go to Shrewsbury very often it's the first time I've seen a craft section, it's quite a reasonable size - a couple of aisles - and there is some reduced stuff. My 12 X 12 DCWV cardstock pads were half price. We didn't have time to go into the town centre this time as there were other things on the list to get done (and we had to stop off at Welshpool first to look at some paving) and with all the retail parks everything is so spread out, you can guarantee that everywhere you want is in a different place!
Wrexham is again 60 miles and takes 1.5 hours to get there. I think I know where you mean, it used to be NEWI but it's now become a university IIRC. I've never been, my experience at the NEC a few years ago put me off. I have a friend who goes to the NEC and Port Sunlight every year with her other friend who does the driving, she's never asked me probably because she knows the answer :rotfl: , I can't be doing with push and shove and she always comes back moaning about it!Morning ladies..

I'll try and get it updated today and I'll post a link to the blog when I've done it. We're definitely putting the stuff out today come what may. When we brought the poorly marigolds back into the sun room they were in their outdoor pots and lots of ants have emerged from underneath and they're driving us mad!
I used to be on a screening trial for ovarian cancer, ladies past the menopause chosen at random and invited to join the trial. It was supposed to be a 10 year trial. Every year 1/3 of the people had blood tested, 1/3 had a scan (internal or external, your choice), and 1/3 filled in a questionnaire. It was to try and find a method of screening which worked best with a view to bringing in screening for all women in the future like they do with breast screening now. After 6 years they said it had ended, not sure why it ended early, maybe they had all the research they needed to make the decision, but those of us who had been on the trial were invited to continue. Well, I moved house didn't I and didn't have a phone number to let them know. My appointment letter went to my old address and although we live a stone's throw from there the new owners haven't been passing any stray post on.
Blimey, I've prattled on. Must go and get something done. Don't think I'll be crafting today.0 -
Hi Hassy
You're welcome.
You'd be surprised at the number of times someone will say "you're going to have a job on your hands and won't find a vein" and before they know it, it's done - lol.
The thing is, each day is different - so one day you might have a good vein, the next it might be non existent - there's so many contributory factors that can cause it to be there or not.
As for having mags - that's a good idea - I find that when I'm chatting away to the patient, trying to take their mind off it, that it doesn't work, they're too busy concentrating on what's happening to them, that they forget to answer me! LOL
P.S. - I'm the world's worst person for trying to get blood from my veins, but I'd rather have that done, than be given an injection! lol
