    Evening ladies

Had to post after reading all your stories about giving blood.

I've been doing phlebotomy now for over a year and do a blood clinic a couple of mornings a week in my local surgery, however last week I started doing bank work as well at my local hospital, which is mega, mega busy! My poor feet!

Anyway, it's very, very common for people to faint or throw up when having their blood taken - so nothing to worry about.

Sometimes if they've been fasting, that can be a contributory factor, or just one of those things because they've got themselves worked up into a state at the thought of a needle.

On my first day at the hospital last week, one of my first few patients told me he had no problem and that I'd find his veins without any problem, which I did - straight afterwards he said, "oooh I really don't feel well at all" - and he was sweating like I'd never seen anyone sweat before - I was sure he was having a heart attack, but he was fine after a few moments.

On my second day, a young lad came in, needed 5 bottles filling, and it was his first time having blood taken. He was chatting away and afterwards said, "I think I'm going to be sick" - and promptly threw up everywhere - lol.

What a start to the week that was! lol

A bit of a random question, but does anyone know where I might get some blank (one colour would be fine) jigsaw pieces that are thickish card like chipboard?

We have been invited to a BBQ in a couple of weeks, and the person whose birthday it is is really into jigsaw puzzles, so much so that if he finds a nice jigsaw he will glue it together and frame it and hang it in their house.

I want to do a fiddlefart type of newpaper card, with a jigsaw theme and thought that if I could find any jigsaw pieces that fit together in a straight line I could spell out his name in letters stuck onto the jigsaw pieces, so need 5 pieces althogether. Any ideas where I could get some? I did think about cutting the bits on the robo, but it doesn't cut very thick card even if you put it through 2 or 3 times.

    Thanks

    xx

Good evening everyone. I haven't been around today. We went shopping, it's a day out for us as nearest proper shops is Wrexham or Shrewsbury, today we went to Shrewsbury and it's 60 miles away and all country roads, no motorway! Anyway, didn't get everything (some stuff for bedroom) but managed to look at some paving for the garden which we're thinking of having done. Found the craft section at Dunelm and bought a couple of 12 x 12 DCWV pads, Brights and another one, can't remember at the moment, plus a few flowers and buttons and had a £10 credit note so that paid for almost half of it :j . Then some boring stuff like food :rotfl: .

I've had to skim read as it's so late and made a few notes.

Choccy Well done on making Top 3 at Incy Wincy :T.

Hassy I've not started feeding the tomatoes or beans yet. They've been in the sun room and I haven't been able to put them out as it's been too cold. I bought the tomatoes as seedlings from Wilkinsons about mid-March and planted them up straight away. The beans I think I planted at the end of March. I suppose it's a bit like a greenhouse so they've come on quite a lot. The weather is supposed to be warming up now and I'm going to risk putting them out tomorrow. I've got a gardening blog which I'll try and update in the next day or two and if you're interested you can see what they're like.

Jowri Sorry it's late but I hope you've had a fab birthday.

CraftyJuJu Oh dear, what a time you had at the drs. I hope your ankle is better soon.

Bunbun Sorry you're not feeling so good, hope you also feel better soon.

CT Well done on your card sales :T.

Sorry if I've missed anyone out.

I'll leave blog hopping until tomorrow, we had a really early start so I want to get to bed at a reasonable time.

CT - if you have a Poundland near you, they have quite a selection of puzzles in at the moment that you could either cover with paper or acrylic paint.
