Thanks all, will add card candy but would you believe I don't have any thin black ribbon, yet have hundreds of metres of other colours??

I am fuming, just had a letter from tax credits apparently I need to pay them £2693.37 back IMMEDIATELY! :rotfl: just a shame they won't answer the phone cause I am just itching for a row and this has put me in the right mood lol

Congrats Toms mum :j will catch up properly later on ... have tax credits on speed dial to kick off :D:D:D they can whistle for their money as I handed in my notice at work last sunday as I am incapable of working yet they won't give me any money cause I am not disabled! :rotfl: this country stinks!

I like your card Rusty, the style suits the image, you don't need too much fuss on it. Card candy or a bow as suggested would be fine additions, whichever you have.......And [STRIKE]b****r[/STRIKE] stuff the housework you live in a home not a show house and remember - "The visitors who mind don't matter and the visitors that matter don't mind"

I wonder what happened about the ovarian cancer trial? They call it the silent killer don't they? I had a scare many years ago - I hadn't quite written my will but will never forget the fear. I was very lucky it was "just" the consequence of endometriosis so they whipped out the ovaries anyway & left the rest as it was too complicated????? (shruggy shoulder thingy) The girls in the rooms near me weren't so lucky, one was only in her twenties.

Well Done Toms Mum - Good Prize! I like that that lady's work & snag her freebies with glee!

Rainmac sorry you are feeling carp - wonder if it's the change in the weather? or have you been visiting bunbun? Hope you are both feeling better very soon. xx

CraftyJuJu - Rest that foot and if it's not much better in a day or two get medical help

Hassy - Like your motto about an imaculate house, it's so true!

 Be the kind of woman that when your feet hit the ground each morning the devil says, "OH CARP, SHE'S UP"!

  • Rusty - this is a good website to help with tax credits problems. It sets out how to go about disputing overpayments in simple steps.

Must go and make my Dad's card and then I need to blog a few cards.

I think someone asked earlier about distressing paper? If not please ignore the following... I use an open pair of scissors and run the balde along the edge of paper or card, holding the paper/card quite close to where the scissors are to avoid tearing. I think a bit of tearing adds to the effect but could cry when the paper is nice ;) Basic Grey paper works brilliantly being distressed as it is quite thick. The paper on my musical card was quite thin and was hard to do without tearing it. You can buy distressing tools but I just use a cheapie pair of scissors :) HTH x

Tax Credit system stinks, reckon it will be overhauled with the new government. Hope you get some joy Rusty but as it is the Tax Credit people I doubt it :( I don't have any black ribbon either. Do you have any you could colour with a black Promarker?

    Hello Ladies

I'm posting from work, so need to be quick! lol

I'm still doing these Pocketfold wedding invitations and the bride to be would like a swirly pattern on the actual invite card and the envelopes, but I'm rubbish at stamping, plus I don't have any stamps anyway :rotfl:

However, I wondered if it was possible to print swirly patterns?

Here's one to demonstrate what I'm looking for: (scroll down)

Can anyone help, or have any suggestions please?

Oooh, I's all excited :j I won a challenge over at Pile It On, choice of 4 digi stamps from Meljens Designs. I love her digis. The card was made with one of her designs (Too Sweet Kitty, it's lovely).

Dunelm is on the Sundorn retail park, just across the traffic lights from the big new Tesco and B & Q. It's down the bottom, there's Homebase, Staples, DFS (?), then Dunelm. It's quite a big one and although we don't go to Shrewsbury very often it's the first time I've seen a craft section, it's quite a reasonable size - a couple of aisles - and there is some reduced stuff. My 12 X 12 DCWV cardstock pads were half price. We didn't have time to go into the town centre this time as there were other things on the list to get done (and we had to stop off at Welshpool first to look at some paving) and with all the retail parks everything is so spread out, you can guarantee that everywhere you want is in a different place!

Wrexham is again 60 miles and takes 1.5 hours to get there. I think I know where you mean, it used to be NEWI but it's now become a university IIRC. I've never been, my experience at the NEC a few years ago put me off. I have a friend who goes to the NEC and Port Sunlight every year with her other friend who does the driving, she's never asked me probably because she knows the answer :rotfl: , I can't be doing with push and shove and she always comes back moaning about it!

Sorry snipped you. Yes that's the retail park I've seen I shall go and ivnestigate Dunelm when next there. I bet you went to Co-ed d dinas (sp) in Welshpool didn't you? I love that garden centre just such a shame the craft section is so pants. I know people who have done Port Sunlight as well I blieve they have really strict numbers but it does get very busy. I shall find out more about the Wrexham one though.

    Congrats on your win.

I'm glad you've come across others that want to be sick, Sally. It's funny cos the sight of blood on others doesn't bother me but on ME  pass me the kidney bowl. I only faint at seeing James Martin in real life! Just the thought of him (I'm going!!!) THUD!

Very happily walked behind him for about 10 mins at the Good Food Show, such a nice [STRIKE]bum[/STRIKE] err view :rotfl:

TiredMom, silver would count as a colour on the Magical Crafts Challenge x

I am feeling a bit carp today, not sure if it's hayfever or a cold but I feel lousy, my head's all foggy and am being lazy. Should have hoovered and dusted but can't be bothered :o

Sorry your feeling poo, perhaps it's what your little one had or like you say hayfever. Thanks for info on card will bear that in mind.

Rusty - Love the card but like the others say think card candy would just balance. Good luck with tax credits.

With regards to housework I have a very good magnet stcuk on my fridge taht says "Cleaning the house when kids are growing is like shovelling snow when it's still snowing"

    On that note I'm running.........
