Oooh Rainmac hugs to you - that brings back memories - my son got chicken pox in his reception year the first day back after the two week break in May / June. He was off school for three weeks really poorly. He got better only for my dd who was 2 to get it - omg was she spotty , not poorly but very, very spotty. She got better - wait for it - only for my husband to get it  (He'd never had it as a kid). Oh my lord was he ill - he was out of action for three weeks.

As a family we were out of action for two months. I felt like painting a big red cross on the front door and standing with a bell, ringing "unclean, unclean" :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:. I felt like punching anyone who said - oh chicken pox, that's only mild....

Arrrggghhh, my boys have chicken pox, DS2 has woken up this morning absolutely covered in spots and DS1 has less spots but still has a good number. DS1 is supposed to be doing his first karate grading on Sunday, he's gutted that he probably isn't going to be able to do it.

Will catch up with all posts I've missed later, I need another cuppa if I'm going to be stuck in with 2 children climbing the walls!!!

:eek: Rainmac I can't believe your boys are poorly again, poor little things. It would be such a shame if DS1 can't do his Karate grade. I hope they dont feel too itchy.

When I was childminding I had 3 under 4 with Chicken Pox one after the other:eek: for 6 weeks I never went out during the day!! Of course mummies and daddies couldn't possibly have time off to look after a sick child, only days off for hairdressers and fake tan sessions!!!!

Both of my boys were dressed as that famous literary character - Indiana Jones! What I didn't realise was that pre-school weren't celebrating world book day although they have got a visit to the big school so he will fit in there! Luckily he doesn't care- any excuse to be Indy!

I know, they've had more than their fair share of germs so far this year poor things, as I look at them I can literally see more spots appearing, it's very weird :p They are both a bit hot but fine, thank goodness - arguing so they must be ok ;). DS1 was supposed to be celebrating World Book Day at his school today, their theme was 'Underpants' (Aliens Love Underpants etc) so he had planned to wear a pair of his own on his head, a pair of OH's over his trousers and he spent ages making a colourful paper pair to selotape to his school sweatshirt.

how can there be two and a half pages of posts since htis afternoon - you ladies should be crafting lol.

I am not a happy bunny as just been onto craft superstore to order a cuttlebug and it is out of stock - not fair am off to sulk in a corner. The pink one is in but I don't like pink. If anyone has lots of pennies and is after a Cuttlebug they have a bundle for £99.99 which a has an alphabet set in as well as the normal bundle of stuff. not sure if you are saving much though

Noooo I made a deal with OH last night that he could get a new tattoo next week if I could get my cuttlebug - I've got next week off and was going to play - I feel a tantrum coming on!!!

Have any of you used this site before cos they've got them in stock for a few pounds more? (impatient moi?? :D)

Rainmac - your poor LOs hope they're feeling better soon (wee shame he's gonna miss his grading)

Oh dear, hope they don't drive you too mad!! How long will they have to stay at home for?? Is it 2 weeks or something??

2 weeks seems a long while.

My policy is once the spots have scabbed over then they come back to us. Usually about 5 days sometimes less. Being a childminder if all parents were happy (they usually are as they want them to catch them) I would under normal circumstances let them come but unfortunately hubby hasn't had them and I have had shingles so can't take the risk of catching them again.

One of my friends had a chicken pox party and invited all her friends kids over to catch it lol.
