  • What I was meaning to ask was for help or inspiration! I need to make a get well soon card for a man, only thing is I want it to be quite a bright and cheery one, he is currently undergoing chemo and he is very very ill, There is a 98% chance that he isn't going to live much longer but he is such a funny and great bloke that is has all happened so sudden! (he started with stomach pains last autumn and only in March did they take him seriously and give him a scan, then they discovered cancer but it is quite strong and fierce :() So my thoughts were a get well soon type card but with a beer or something like that on it? Just to keep the mood light etc? Has anyone got any ideas for me as I really would like to make a card for him but don't want to take the easy option and buy one!

Hmm maybe you could do something along the lines of get well soon so I can buy you a pint? You could get creative and cut a beer shaped card with your Robo. Or maybe you could do something pop art themed with bam/pow explosions? Sorry if those ideas seem rubbish!

Thanks for all the comments about my sweetie dispenser - it wasn't too bad sticking on all the gems as I was watching Ace of Cakes all day! I'm taking it into work tomorrow but have no idea what to charge him on top of materials (£10).... Any ideas??? Lol xxx

lol at rusty making the staff in hobbycraft check out the back :rotfl: ours didnt seem to have any staff today, there were no tills open and everyone had to queue up at the material cutting counter to pay! as for your material I agree with the other suggestion of looking in charity shops for cheap duvet covers as a source of cheaper material. some places that sell it by the metre are so overpriced!

bunbun huge well done to your boys!!

Rusty - Can't think of anything much but if you had a suitable pic could you use the idea (so as not to be too sombre) On the front "You find out who your friends are when you get sick"........on the inside......"They are the ones who send you cards" It's a bit weak I know but this type are tough aren't they?

BunBun - Well Done to your boys! and nice of the committee to recognise both their effort. (and yours, I guess!)

bunbun- your boys must be amazing- well done to you!

well after an eventful week last week, DH is in a very generous mood and has let me make over the craft room! it was previously just cobbled together furniture, but now it will all match and have pretty jars to hold things and eventually pretty boxes to hold not so pretty things. i have taken before pics and just need to finish the room and then will take the after pics!

i hope you all have had a lovely weekend- we went to york today and flexed the plastic, i have been dieting recently and really needed some new clothes so have spent a fortune. dieting is expensive!

PONR your flowers are just beautiful. Did you use paper or card and what size punch did you use please?

Time is right on my PC too.

Thank you!!! I used an EK 1 1/2 inch scallop circle punch and I used cardstock.

I went to hobbycraft today and got almost nothing. None of the papers or punches . i got the last pack of tiny pink pegs ,4 pink plant pot shape storage baskets , some dome stickers for kaitlyn a couple of magazines and a wooden wreath shape with flowers and butterflies to decorate for princess kaitlyns bedroom wall. Gutted at the fact it wasn't worth going .
