Afternoon all :) hope everyone is ok? Just wrote out a long reply and it has deleted itself  so will work on memory! sorry!

CG - thinking of you and hope things soon improve

Dragonllew - Well done on your win! :j

Saucy - Glad you have got your cuttlebug :)

Marg - I completely agree, I for one don't always have time to send cards to everyone on here no matter how hard I try (sorry to those who I have missed) I will however try and build up a box of cards which are there for the occasion so that I can just send away! I very rarely do anything with the cards I make and for familys birthdays I always make a fresh one, not sure why I do it but I do! I don't think anyone on here is greedy enough to demand a card, I think it is always nice to try and send a card for someones birthday but real life has a horrible way of getting in the way!!

popkins - hope you get better soon

I went to the papermill this morning as the company I ordered some envelopes off for the evening invites for my friend have called and told me they have been discontinued  this is after they have taken my money and waited 4 days to contact me and tell me!! I went to papermill to buy envelopes and ended up spending a fortune! I bought the 4 reams of paper on the special offer, I went for 3 white boxes and 1 coloured, I have got home and they are not white, they are like a dirty white/cream and not good enough to use for stamping!! (because of the colour) I am quite annoyed as they had them in view of the window and when the sun was shining on them earlier it looked as though they were white!! so I now need to trek back to the shop and take them back, hopefully without any problems!! I also bought loads of 12x12 scrapbook papers, came home and realised that although the price was cheap at 49p a sheet 50% off when you buy so many you may aswell just buy the actual pack rather than single sheets! so I am going to try and take them back aswell! Has anyone returned anything back to papermill? did you have any problems?

Rainmac - I did send you a PM but just wanted to say massive thankyou for the packet I recieved this morning :D

I can't wait for OH to come home, I am having such a carp week!! Sending hugs to everyone who needs them or wants them! xxxxxx

Ooooooh the main reason I wanted to post on here was for Melissa ....

New ranges of October afternoon ;) they are in stock now! I want both the kite and the thrift ones!! they are so beautiful!! Linky here

Oh and to answer your question on how I spent £300, I put on my stash from the NEC which was £162 something, then OH bought me the rest of the promarkers which was £58 and then he spent £49.95 on me in Hobbycraft the day before I went to the NEC to cheer me up after huge row with my family after Grans funeral, and then I spent £25 on a box from Sarahs cards which hasn't arrived yet! Neither have the promarkers! So after you being such a good girl and hardly spending anything I really think you should treat yourself to these new papers :rotfl: Hope Elliot is behaving for you now! xx

Rusty - I'd be interested to know about the Papermill because I also wanted to swap two of my boxes. I ended up with the off white and agree in day light it looks mucky white, I also realised I should have got one of the green or red ones instead of one of the white. I'm not going to get chance to go till next week but if I go before you I will let you know how I get on.

  • Rusty - I only bought 'white' card from the Papermill shop once! It was a greyish colour when I got home - horrible. I didn't take it back though. The best white card I've found locally is at Arty and Crafty, it was 20p a sheet but has now gone up to 25p :(

TomsMom I have had the same problems with printing digi images. I was blog hopping yesterday and found I think it was 'pinkladymel's blog and she recommends this from Craftwork Cards.
http://www.craftworkcards.co.uk/product_details.aspx?prod=872 There is another brand I think it's called 'Printit' that I'm getting fairly good results from. Try setting your printer to 'best' or 600dpi to get a good squish of ink. Hope this helps.

just a thought, have you tried printing on watercolour card?

Thanks for that Wifey. I have been printing on smooth card (270gsm) with the printer on "best". I thought that the ink would stay wet enough to take embossing powder. I'm beginning to wonder if printing on "normal" and taking less ink would mean less chance of the ink smuding when I colour??????????
I'll check out Mel's blog and also Craftwork Cards. I'm going out soon and wont be back till late so will probably do that tomorrow.

I have a pad of watercolour paper (thick like card) so I could give that a try.

I've ended up in a right mood, and with a headache, wasting all afternoon on this and the images I've coloured look like a child's colouring in. Maybe teddies and ducks shouldn't be watercoloured (ooh, I do miss the shruggy smiley!). Still I did manage to almost finish one card. I went up to do one for my son and one for my friend's ruby anniversary and ended up doing something completely different with no-one particular in mind so it will go in my "box".
