Have a great evening Marg, I love Chris Rea.
Brilliant comment on my blog OAP:whistle: Be the kind of woman that when your feet hit the ground each morning the devil says, "OH CARP, SHE'S UP"! :whistle:0 -
PONR - I got mine at the Creative Stitch & Hobbycraft show (I think I paid about £4), so not much help to you really. I also bought these which I can highly recommend (although not from here so you may find them cheaper), infact I use these more than the Pentel one.
The Wife - your card made me chuckle this morning. It's fab.
Marg - have a great time tonight.0 -
JHB Its probably my own fault I should have double checked before I paid. If it is then I will split them and sell them on Crafty Place.Thankyou for the punch you gave me, its fab! I had a quick go this morning and I love it.
I had a fantastic day on Friday, I loved every single minute, all of you girlies are sooo lovely :A Rusty you are amazing, driving all that way and picking up on the way. You don't know how much I appreciated the lift :A Bunbun I hope you kept poking her with a sharp stick to make sure she didn't nod off :rotfl:Crafty JuJu I can't wait to see your new jewellery stash made up. Did you say you were going to make some handbag charms:D Choccy you are a nutter :rotfl:nothing like I imagined you to be! I was quite nervous of meeting you all but you made me feel so welcome. Thankyou xxxx (I'm not posh either:rotfl:)
Choccy my stash swap is gorgeous and thank you for the lovely cards. I'm glad you enjoyed your little birthday suprise and I hope the cake survived.
Rainmac thankyou for my beautiful swap card, I absoloutely love it. It was so nice to speak to you and your lovely neighbour Jan. I do hope she is going to join us again.
We all had some gorgeous gifts, cards and yummy cakes and chocolates for each other. Everyone is so generous. I will put the piccies on my blog later. I was so shattered last night after being at work and on my feet again all day, but this morning while I was sorting things out I just couldn't stop smiling and thinking about you all.
Thankyou everyone for such a fabulous day :A0 -

Hi guys
I've not been around for a few weeks and so it has taken me hours over the last couple of days to catch up on the masses of pages missed.
First off can I say I say hugs for all those that have lost someone over the past couple of weeks sadly there appears to have been a run of them. Glad to hear/see everyone had such a fab time at the NEC, I usually do Good Food Show in November but this year there is definately going to be a switch to the Craft show.
I too had a spend on Friday as I went to the Lowry outlet and had a raid of Papermill and Craftworld, I shall take piccies later to show my stash and also ask some advice.
I've not been around as the problem on my laptop was sorted out with a new motherboard that turned out to be faulty as 4 days later my computer died completely so I had to wait for another new motherboard to be put in.
My DD brought home Norovirus from school which she then passed onto DS and they seemed to like having the symptoms simultaneously! Well I have very generous children who like sharing things so they thought they would share it with me, and gave me it for Mother's Day!
I've then had my DD's 4th birthday party as her birthday is on Easter Tuesday. She had decided she wanted a princess party and having had a boy Mommy was more than happy to do the whole pink princessy party. Whilst I was searching the web for princess cakes Erin decided she wanted the most complicated cake going but I must admit I was rather pleased with the end result, I should have shared it all with the non NECers on Friday. Anyway I am likely to fill the entire page but I haven't got a blog sorted yet, job for after Easter so I will apologise in advance.
This is her princess cake
These are the contents of her party bags. Cupcake flannels, Princess bookmarks, personalised chocolate bars, Easter crackers(bought in sale last year), little boxes of jewellrey and a crown cookie. I didn't cut the cake at the morning party as we had the family party in the afternoon and I wasn't making two cakes. I therefore did the cookies instead for the goodie bags, I used the edible glitter on them so they really twinkled.
I was going to buy some lovely organza gift bags that were a really good price but I realised even as cheap as they were it was going to cost me another £15 so I bought paper bags from Quality Save and added pull bows bought from ebay, must admit the bows stank of petrol not sure why, probably because they were really cheap.
To make a scout hut more princessy we used one of the scene setters with the birthday add on, you wouldn't know from the picture but Pincess Erin was thrilled.
I then bought cheap gold plates and stick on gems from poundland to decorate them and personalised bottled water, my daughter only wants princess water now though and not normal water!
These were her very simple thank you cards I did in the morning before nursery for all her friends. I was actually rather pleased with the simplicity of them.
My son had his friends party today so I make this card last night. I used some new papers I bought on Friday which I will picture later which were sort of bam , wham, kerpow thus the inspiration for the blast cutout. Thankfully my son was thrilled with it as I wasn't very pleased, don't think I can really do boy cards. Cuttlebug is definately on my birthday list as cutting out letters by hand really is no fun, have to wait until September though.
Finally, (I hear you all breath a sigh of relief) my card for the non NECer cake card challenge. Now this is obviously much more my comfort zone and I am rather pleased with it. The card, flower, ribbon and sentiment were from my lovely MSE stash. The backing paper from a bargain bin at Garden Centre craft store, papers for cupcake freebies from Papercraft magazine and pink stickers from Paperchase.
Right I will post this now as I am petrified I will go and delete it by mistake. I really must get a blog sorted I am so sorry for the length of this post.0 -
Skiergirl - I think you askedd a couple of weeks back whether I was going to the next workshop. I can't go the one on the 6th April as will be away but I will be going to the techniques one on the 13th. I have also been invited to the launch next Tuesday of the new Stampin Up Mini Catalogue. It is 7.00 - 9.30 and is free! We get to play with the things, do a make and take, nibbles, drink and obviously they want us to spend lots of money, think there may be a discount on the night. Anyway we can take a guest so if you would like to go just PM me as soon as you can so I can book you in for numbers.
Flourgirl - I am wanting to buy some promarkers as the only colouring pens I have are the children's felt tips and once a month I can use the Stampin Up ones at the workshop. Are the colours you have good starting out ones or are they more obscure colours?
Right off to photograph my stash from my purchases on Friday so I can ask some advice.

Tired Mom - what fabulous photos, isn't she a little darling, she's gorgoeus!
Well hope all you ladies who were at the NEC had a fab time, it seems like it from your posts and your photos! lol
Ladies, I need some help with 150 favours that I've been asked to make for a forthcoming wedding.
Rainmac, I thought I'd try making those gorgeous little baskets that you made a while back?? I think it was you? However, my question is this:
Where would be the best place to purchase a supply of card or paper for this amount of baskets - would I be better getting a paper pack do you think, like the Papermania ones? And also, does anyone know where the cheapest place is to get scalloped punches? Her colour theme is orange, pink and cream.
Thanks again ladies, hugs to all of you who are poorly or who have poorly relatives.
Sal

Hi! Sally, I think you can make the little baskets from A4, have a look at the tutorial here if so then I would hazard a guess that Papermill would be your best bet. I don't know how far you are away from one but at leat you'll be able to pick out a good orange and a pretty pink. Be the kind of woman that when your feet hit the ground each morning the devil says, "OH CARP, SHE'S UP"! :whistle:0
